Fennel - Relieves gastric discomfort bloating and indigestion.
Notes:
Fennel is high in vitamin C, vitaminA calcium, iron, and potassium.
Also, is an especially good nutritional adjunct for dogs w chronic indigestion that does not seem to be attributed to a specific disease.
Directions for use in dogs:
Add 1 tsp of dried fennel seeds
in 8 oz of boiling water,
steeped until cool.
Feed 2 - 4 tablespoons for each 20 lbs of dog’s body weight, or can be added to the drinking water.
A Glycerin tincture also works well and offers the convenience of a smaller dosage, especially for finicky animals. 10-20 drops perf 20lbs dog body weight
Dill
Relieves nausea and gas. Especially when issues are secondary to a sudden change in diet, or inadvertently getting into food not intended for them.
Directions for tea:
Steep 1 TBS of dill seed in 8 ounces a very hot water. Once the tea has cooled, strain it and feed 2-4 TBS, or add to drinking water or mix it with a broth to get them to drink it.
A sprinkling of ground dill seed on the food may also help symptomatic relief, but the liquid option tends to be more effective.
