Thank you to all who joined us, and all who were with us in Spirit at Filoli for a great Fall Mixer last Wednesday

Surrounded by beautiful natural garden settings, attendees had an opportunity to have intimate conversations and build community in support of our collective mission.

We are so grateful to Larkin Street Youth Services for inviting Project Onramp Bay Area to participate in their Resource Fair: College & Career Day!

At Project Onramp, our mission is to open doors for under resourced students by connecting them with paid internships in the life sciences industry, helping to build a more diverse and inclusive future in STEM.

Events like this remind us why we do this work: to ensure that talented students have access to the opportunities and networks that can change the trajectory of their careers.

Calling all volunteers! Join us and First Tee – Oakland for a festive Trunk or Treat and help bring Halloween fun to local youth and families. 🎃👻

Here’s how you can get involved:

Decorate and host a themed trunk to hand out candy

Sponsor or lead an activity station (spooky games, Halloween crafts)

Volunteer on-site to help set up or support activities

Donate candy or supplies to make the event a success

Date: Thursday, October 16

Time: 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Metropolitan Golf Links, Oakland CA

This is a great opportunity to come together, get creative, and support local youth in a welcoming community setting. 🧡

Meet Genessi Lizama, this year’s Cytokine mRNA-LNP Cancer Immunology Intern at AbbVie!

Through her Project Onramp internship, Genessi discovered new career possibilities in the life sciences industry. Her favorite part of the program? Networking and building meaningful connections that will carry her forward. Looking ahead, Genessi hopes to pursue a career as a Research Associate or Basic Life Scientist in Immuno-Oncology—and she’s eager to stay connected with Project Onramp for continued growth and mentorship.

Project Onramp creates paid summer internships in the life sciences for talented college students from underrepresented backgrounds—including first-generation college students and those from under resourced communities. Our mission is to open doors, expand networks, and launch the next generation of diverse leaders in the life sciences.
