Our Story
The Presidio Chapter provides programs to its members that are engaging, fun, and informative. Our programs and projects all support the mission of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, which is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism. Our meetings last an hour and after each meeting there is a tea and program.
DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join.
Involvement in chapter meetings and activities are not required to be a member of the Presidio Chapter. The level of your involvement is at your discretion. The chapter understands that with the busy lives of our members sometimes it is not always convenient to make a meeting scheduled on a Saturday or attend events. We offer many different avenues to participate or exchange information as time permits. Classes on genealogy are also offered for those who wish to develop their skills. The chapter participates in many volunteer events during various times of the year which gives members a range of dates to choose from.
