Purusha Seva Project

Purusha Seva Project The Purusha Seva Project is a San Francisco 501(c)3 nonprofit that brings yoga and health/wellness education to at-risk populations in the Bay Area.

The Purusha Seva Project is a San Francisco 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by Joy Ravelli. Purusha Programs deliver a complete and comprehensive curriculum of health education, wellness, fitness, expressive arts, and self care. Each program is designed to deliver a core philosophy that is based on classic yoga principals, such as self-exploration, values clarification, and the importance of a thriving community, as well as skills that enhance one’s ability to live a life based on truth, simplicity, purity, non-harm, and surrender to the present moment. We handpick our program instructors based on their training and experience with the populations and age groups we serve, primarily at-risk youth. Locations that currently offer our programs include the New Traditions Elementary School, San Francisco Unified School District, San Quentin Prison, San Francisco Women's Correctional Facility, A Home Away from Homelessness, University of California San Francisco, Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science at WPI, New Horizons School, and Presidio Hills School (yoga program for teachers).
