Sean Kennedy LCSW

Sean Kennedy LCSW This is a not for profit mental health therapy practice. There is a sliding scale of as little as $1 dollar--fees are dependent on your income.

I am Sean Kennedy, LCSW, I have been working as a clinical social worker for the past six years. I bring with me four of experience in chemical addiction. During my time as a substance abuse social worker, I have developed the skills such as compassion and empathy that makes me the therapist I am today. I currently hold a Master Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. I also hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the City College of New York. We all develop different ways of dealing with stress, low self-esteem, and anger that are not either socially acceptable or makes us feel worse in the long term. I teach my clients different ways of resolving tension, work place stress, low self esteem, and anger that are socially acceptable and leaves the person with a sense of accomplishment and self worth. I use approaches such as Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behvioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Talk Therapy to assist you in your issues. I work with clients suffering from PTST (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), race issues, depression, social anxiety, anger management, and gender identity issues. I can be reached at 510-717-0222 for a FREE phone consultation and to make an appointment.

It’s okay if you don’t feel like talking.
You never owe anyone an explanation.

Don’t fill the void with words and your energy, just to make others feel at ease.

Always honor what feels comfortable for you.
Ask yourself, “What is in my best interest in this moment?” ❤️

(Once the heart gets too heavy with pain, people don't cry. They just turn silent. Completely silent.-unknown)

💯 If you notice signs that your child is struggling academically or socially (difficulty learning or connecting with peers), it may be time to consider an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Make a request (preferably written, via email or handwritten) for the school to evaluate your child to see if they are experiencing overwhelming learning difficulties. If your child’s school has a social worker, counselor or psychologist, they may be a great person to start the conversation with. To create an effective IEP, parents, teachers, other school staff--and often the student--must come together to look closely at the student's unique strengths and needs. These individuals pool knowledge, experience and commitment to design an educational program that will help the student be involved in, and progress in their learning journey.

In the first test of its kind since the Dobbs ruling, Kansas voters have decided not to amend the state constitution, keeping abortion legal in the state — for now.
