💭It’s SO easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of negative thoughts, accepting them as truths.
🌱But here’s the thing, YOU are the boss of which thoughts and beliefs you give weight to, and which you leave behind.
👋🏼If the doubt and criticism just isn’t working for you anymore, It’s time you give yourself a chance at treating yourself with a little more love:
1️⃣ Practice awareness:
Start by simply noticing when negative thoughts arise. Pay attention to the way you speak to yourself and the stories you tell in your mind. Be gentle with yourself as you observe without judgment.
2️⃣ Challenge your inner critic:
When you catch yourself engaging in negative self-talk, gently challenge those thoughts. Ask yourself:
“Is this really true?”
“Do I actually believe this?”
“Are these thoughts bringing me slower or further away from my true self?”
3️⃣ Cultivate self-compassion:
As a recovering perfectionist, I knowww how hard it can be to practice self-compassion. But just like any other muscle we get to exercise, retraining your mind through daily affirmations, acts of self-care, and surrounding yourself with supportive people are lovely steps in the right direction.
It’s incredible to think about how YOU are in charge of the scripts you write.
When you own that, it’s amazing to see how your eating habits, self-care, mood, and relationship with food and your body shift for the better
Do you have a daily mind ‘exercise’ that’s worked for you? Would love to hear it below!
