Hoodoo is often misunderstood.
Some see it as a collection of spells. Others feel it is something closed to them entirely.
But Hoodoo runs deeper than you might think
Hoodoo is a tradition of survival. It adapted under pressure. It endured because it had to.
And because of that, it offers something rare: a system that can actually respond to life as it is.
In my upcoming course Working the Roots, I’m going to guide you through this tradition as a living practice, with a strong focus on ancestor work, spirit relationships, and real-world application.
Across 8 weeks, you’ll work through weekly teachings, written lessons, and practical exercises designed to help you not just understand Hoodoo… but most importantly, apply it.
It begins with context, history, and ethics; because without understanding where this tradition comes from, you cannot work it properly.
From there, you move into:
● Herbal theology and working with roots as living spirits
● Cleansing practices, baths, and waters
● Candle and flame workings
● Oils, powders, and traditional deployment methods
● Divination systems used to diagnose and guide the work
● Spirit relationships, including ancestors and cultural spirits
And finally, how to bring it all together into a coherent practice.
