Go Masks

Go Masks GO MASKS makes washable and reusable fabric masks with a water-resistant outer layer. For each mask we sell we donate one to someone in need.

It is our mission to donate masks to medical facilities and organizations serving the vulnerable.

Although we’ve closed our online store since mid November, a customer wrote me this week to tell me how much her staff love the Go Masks and asked to buy more! Wow, she made my day.😊 And yes, of course she could buy more and I just shipped out her bulk face masks order yesterday! We love to know that our masks get put to good use. In fact, we continued to donate masks to needs even after we wrapped up our store and sent 3,000 to CityTeam Ministries at the end of December. Feel free to reach out if you have needs or are interested in bulk orders! 👍🏻

What a year it’s been! One day when this is all over, I hope to give a big hug to all those we’ve met along the Go Masks journey. This collage shows just a few of the many lovely folks who represented hospitals, mental health services, homeless ministries, senior care, hunger relief and food distribution who serve those in need during difficult times. I was privileged to meet them, share the Go Masks story in person, and hand off hundreds of face masks for them to distribute to those they serve.

I also got to hear their stories. Every time I think about what they’ve said to me, I am humbled. They are the ones looking into the eyes of someone broken. They are the ones seeing the lack and the need. They are the ones extending a hand to someone who feels alone. Bless them and may their work multiply and help many more. I am so grateful to have partnered with them in our small way as they do good each and every day.

Go Masks will officially say farewell on Sunday November 15, at which time we will also be closing the online store. You may purchase Go Masks during these few final days. Our email will remain active for now to assist with customer service and respond to any final donation requests. Thank you so much for your support. We could only do good because we did it together! We are grateful.

The social platforms will remain as a testimony to the good that so many have done. These new friends have encouraged our family to look beyond our own needs for good. May we all be challenged to do the good we can. I believe this simple commitment will already “make the world a better place”.

Thank you for coming alongside our journey of good.  Your support and encouragement made it all possible.  Go Masks will officially say farewell on November 15, at which time we will also be closing the online store.  If you’d like to purchase any Go Masks, you may do so during the next 2 weeks.  Our email will remain active for now to assist with customer service and respond to any final donation requests.

The social platforms will remain as a testimony to the good that so many have done.  We are amazed whenever we think about the humble and generous people we got to know along the way.  They have encouraged our family to look beyond our own needs for good.  May we all be challenged to do the good we can.  I believe this simple commitment will already “make the world a better place”.💕

Looking back to these 6 months of good work, we could not have done it without our precious daughters!  They were involved every step of the way.  We talked about the plans as a family, we prayed, and we shared the joy of every story of good.  They were with us sweeping the garage floor and moving things around to make room for the mask shipment.  They counted, labeled, and QC’ed thousands of face masks.  They were right there working with us, packing donation after donation to send out to those in need.

My heart is full as mom.  Our girls had a chance to give their time and efforts to serve others.  They did it humbly and joyfully.  Go Masks was simply a family endeavor to serve.  We never intended it to be anything else.  It was a step of obedience to follow an open door from above to give of ourselves so others might receive.

Thank you, girls!  You’ve been the best partners in good Daddy and I can ask for.  Let’s continue to do good together in whatever ways God leads us next! 💕

“Love your generosity and what this company has done for those in the time of need in this world. When we look back on this 50 years later when your children’s children learn about the pandemic, I hope that they know how you activated for those in need.”

Indeed, 50 years from now when our children’s children look back on our time, what would they have found us doing during this unprecedented time of need?

It takes people to do good and there is always good we can do. What good can you and I do today? ❤️

So encouraged and challenged by A.W.’s message! Thank you, friend. 💕

Go Masks began with a simple text exchange 7 months ago with my family in Asia.  I wanted to find out mask availability and sourcing as I saw supplies dwindled Stateside.  I thought perhaps my family in Asia could help me purchase a few hundred masks so we can send to medical workers here with the greatest needs.  Little did I know where that initial thought would lead...

It turned out that a family friend was in the process of producing masks with the same thought of meeting the needs here in the States.  So we went all in to help make it happen.🙌🏻

For the next few weeks, I had nightly conversations with Asia to finalize mask design and packaging.  I spent countless hours creating a website from scratch to share our story as well as sell masks online to help with expenses.  I established Go Masks as a company with Federal and State recognition so I could import products and properly collect sales taxes.  I bought shipping bags, packaging tape, boxes, label printer, and whatever else a little small business would require.  Then I waited and prayed and tracked every movement of the completed masks making their way from Vietnam, to Taiwan, and finally to San Francisco.🙏🏻

Looking back, it took many miracles for Go Masks to become a reality. There were difficult days when I thought there was too much to handle.  But a friend would come and offer to take beautiful professional photos for the website.  Then another friend would come and help create the social media platforms.  My husband, my kids, family and friends would come and offer their helping hand and encouragement and sometimes food to keep me going!

Indeed there is so much good we can do when we do it together. The miracles that brought Go Masks to be are the like-minded family and friends, old and new, who came along on this journey for good.  Thank you for being the miracles.💕

We love hearing from our supporters.💕 We are grateful for this encouraging message from A.P.!

“I saw a news report on your company early on in the pandemic, where your company was donating masks to assisted living residents as well as other people in need.  I was so impressed by your altruistic endeavor that I immediately went to your website and purchased masks for my family, which you would match in donations.

Thank you for being such a wonderful story in these unprecedented times we are in. Good luck to you.”

As we get ready to say farewell, here is looking back to 6 months ago when two pallets of face masks took over our garage. Our family went to work right away to start QC checking, sorting, and packing for donation. This was truly a family endeavor as sometimes my dad would come and help as well. The boxes could seem overwhelming but we were ready. We had reached out to many organizations and had already committed to thousands of donations before the masks ever arrived.👍🏻

While we had the masks available, we would have never thought that in 6 months we could have delivered 42,000 masks to 60 organizations and groups in need. What a privilege to be a small part of so much good that is being done by so many during this unprecedented time of need! 💕

How can a simple mask do good? There is nothing magical about our face masks. Yes, we diligently designed and produced it to the best of our ability, but a mask in and of itself can do no good. It’s people who can do good. It’s you, it’s me, who can give and help and care for another.

It’s people who can make reality the mission of .

My mom has a heart for restaurant workers and those within that circle. Things have become difficult for a long while and my mom has been looking for ways to help. She partnered with me and purchased some Go Masks in bulk to gift to those in the restaurant business.

One lady in particular has been struggling and asked my mom for 2 face masks. So my mom drove up one day, took her to lunch, and personally delivered the masks. During the meal, this friend poured her heart out about her difficult life and at the end confessed that she had never shared so honestly with anyone before. Because of my mom’s genuine act of kindness through a pair of humble face masks, my mom got to become the confidant that this friend so desperately needed. In my mom this woman found someone who cared in the midst of all her hardships.💕

It’s not the masks. It’s the people. The masks will not do good on their own. It takes people giving, sacrificing, sharing, and often going out of their way to do good in a world that desperately needs it. I encourage you to consider my mom’s story and see what good you can do today.

We still have some remaining quantities of masks for giving, so reach out with a need! If you want to partner by purchasing, feel free to do so on our website. We are winding down the Go Masks company and will say our farewell soon. But let us never wind down on doing good! No matter how seemingly small, there is always some good we can do. Let’s continue to do good together!🙌🏻

OUR STORY

In an unprecedented way, the world seems to be at a standstill because of COVID-19. It seems like every day I hear more stories of suffering from this novel sickness. Stories about families losing loved ones, whole industries shutting down, and people becoming more isolated than ever before.

I also hear great needs. Frontline healthcare workers are without sufficient Personal Protective Equipment. The elders and at-risks are going to their treatment or the stores without protective face coverings. Community service organizations are struggling to source masks for needy families and the staff who serve them. And average families are looking for masks to protect their loved ones and meet every day needs.

But I am just one person. What can I do? How can I help?

Reaching out to my family in Asia, I got introduced to a trusted friend who works with a Vietnam factory capable of producing fabric face masks. We partnered and doors opened. Go Masks was born.
