There was a season when anxiety felt heavier than I could carry…

In that time, I discovered that God’s peace isn’t something I earn by being strong enough. It’s something He freely gives when I bring my worries to Him.

That season shaped part of the vision for Heart to Art Collective: to create space where women can experience God’s peace through faith, mental health practices, and creative expression.

✨ Have you ever been surprised by peace in the middle of a hard season?

🌿 Let’s Talk About Peace 🌿

We all face anxious moments. But even small steps can help us move closer to calm.

For me, it’s turning on worship music and letting color flow onto a blank page.

💬 What helps you find calm when life feels overwhelming? Share your “peace practice” in the comments — you never know who might be encouraged by your answer.

Anxiety has a way of stealing our peace... but God offers something better. 🕊️

📖 Philippians 4:6-7 says ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.’

💛 Let His peace surround you today.

👉 Save this devotion for when anxiety feels heavy.

Confession: Even though I talk a lot about creative expression and making time to create… life still gets in the way. I can have every intention to sit down with my art supplies, and suddenly something pops up that needs my attention.

Can anyone else relate?

This year, I’m trying something new. I picked up a mini sketch journal (perfect for on-the-go moments), and I put together a tiny “art kit in a can” (think Altoid size tin). Inside are mini coloring cards I printed, a few scriptures and affirmations, blank cards for writing or doodling, and the cutest little colored pencils that fit right inside.

The point is simple: I’m building small, doable ways to take creativity with me.

So whether I’m in the school pick-up line, waiting for food at a restaurant, or catching a quiet moment anywhere… I can create. I’m no longer limited to my desk or wherever my art supplies happen to be.

I’m sharing this here for two reasons:

1️⃣ Accountability: I’ll try to share my progress throughout the year.

2️⃣ Invitation: I’d love for you to join me. Find small ways to carry creativity with you. Let it become an invitation to pause, pray, and create.

Because the truth is, God can meet us anywhere… even in the simple act of putting pen to paper — or scribbling on a napkin. 💛

💬 Let’s Dream Together 💬

We’re three days into 2026, how’s your heart?

I believe community fuels creativity, so I’d love to hear from YOU:
✨ What’s one thing you’re hoping to create, explore, or experience this year?

Your dreams might inspire someone else to take their own first step. And who knows… maybe we’ll find ways to cheer each other on along the way!

Drop your dream in the comments — big or small — and let’s celebrate what’s possible in 2026. 💗

🎨 New Year Art Prompt: “My Word for 2026” 🎨

The start of a new year is like opening a blank canvas — it’s full of possibility.

Here’s a simple creative exercise to set the tone for 2026:
1️⃣ Pray or pause: Ask God to highlight a word or phrase for this year.

2️⃣ Write it down: in big, bold letters in the center of your page.

3️⃣ Surround it with colors, shapes, or images that reflect how you want to live it out.

4️⃣ Display it somewhere you’ll see often, a visual reminder of your focus.

Whether your word is “rest,” “courage,” “joy,” or something uniquely yours, let this be more than a goal… let it be a heart posture. 💛

If you do this prompt, tag me or share in stories. I’d love to see your creations!

As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how much this year has shaped me, quietly, deeply, and often in ways no one else sees. There were seasons of slow growth, unexpected stretching, and small faithful steps that reminded me God is present in both the stillness and the shift.

One of the sweetest gifts of this year was getting to create with women through our Creative Expressions Workshops. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to connect with the women at FSBC in Earlimart, CA. Our theme was “Past and Future Hands:” a space to look back and honor where we’ve been in 2025, and to look ahead with hope for where God is leading us in 2026.

We named what needed to be released.

We celebrated what God restored.

And we formed visions of the year ahead with open hands and expectant hearts.

This space, Heart to Art Collective, continues to grow because of moments like these. Moments where faith, mental health, and creativity meet and something meaningful takes shape.

As we step into 2026, my prayer is that we keep creating with courage, healing with intention, and noticing God in the transitions.

💗 What’s one thing you’re carrying forward into the new year?

We all have little practices that help us navigate this season, whether it’s a walk in the fresh air, time in prayer, or turning on your favorite song.

I’d love to hear from you: What’s one thing that helps you feel grounded during the holidays?

Your answer might be just what someone else needs this week. 💬

Christmas is a reminder that God stepped into our human story—not only the bright, beautiful parts, but also the messy, weary, and broken places.

This day is for the ones laughing loud and the ones holding back tears. You are seen. You are loved. And you are never alone. 💗

12/23/2025

Some Christmases feel full of light, laughter, and tradition. Others come with a quiet ache, when the chair at the table is empty, when the budget is tight, when you’re healing from something no one sees.

I’ve learned that beauty still finds us in the quiet. That small, creative acts of care, lighting a candle, journaling a prayer, painting through the tears… can make room for Emmanuel, God with us.

If this season looks different for you, you're not alone. This space was made to hold both the grief and the grace. 💗
