Life lately has been so full.

Full of laughter.
Full of anxious thoughts.
Full of growth.
Full of connection and reconnection.
Full of community.
Full of life.

I had a moment a couple days ago driving home from school. It was a rare day when I happened to be by myself and out of nowhere I felt overwhelming gratitude and peace. It hit me randomly, and I paused to thank God.

Life is full, and I am grateful to be alive.

At the beginning of last month, 4 out of the 5 of us got super sick. Thank goodness the last man standing was my husband who had to take care of all of us. He’s basically the only reason any of us ate that first week! It was tough - the kids and I missed the last days of school, I missed my son’s preschool graduation, and summer began while we were in bed binging Netflix shows and sleeping half the day away. Thankfully I had several natural tools available to me to keep us relatively calm, comfortable, and on the road to healing.

Middle children are special. Truth be told, she’s taught me more about life than anything or anyone else.

The greatest thing we can do for our children is to love them for who they are and not try to force them to into who we think they should be. I’m not perfect at it, but she reminds me that I’m doing my best and that’s good enough.
