Ryan graduated in Massage Therapy and Holistic Health in 2010 and has over 11 years of experience working in a clinical setting for pain relief. He uses a variety of different techniques including: Deep Tissue, Cupping, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage, and Reflexology to provide a massage which promotes relaxation and pain relief by matching the techniques to the specific situation and needs of the client. The goal is to restore circulation and breakdown chronic trigger points (muscle knots) or tension caused from accidents, stress, overuse, imbalanced posture, or sports related injuries. In addition to his education in massage therapy, he has taken education in nutrition and health and is a firm believer that the body can heal itself of many different ailments if it is given the right nutrition and tools to do so.

Caring for your muscles is like caring for your teeth or the other systems in your body. As we age, the amount of care they need usually goes up.

When we are talking about muscles, it is a balancing act to keep them healthy and happy. Whether you exercise or not, they require stretching,  massage, and self-care to keep them optimal.

One approach to care for your muscles is to properly warm up and stretch.

Here’s a good routine to get into pre-workout:

Massage your muscles, then do light exertion.

Muscles are much less likely to be injured with with a regular warm up routine.

Before working out or stretching, remember to warm them up. External heat is also a nice addition to this routine!
