A beautiful transformation creating a more youthful set of lips. Many people are afraid of lip filler because they don’t want to look “ducky.” As you can see, this patient had an incredible transformation. As we age our lips deflate and invert, resulting in a disappearing lip. Using lip filler judiciously creates a more youthful and balanced look.

Procedure: lip filler

Anesthesia: dental block and benzocaine/lidocaine/tetracaine

⏱️: 45 minutes

Lasts: 6-12 months

Tip of the day: when treating inverted lips, using small doses will push the lips forward. The key to everting the lower lip is placing minuscule droplets into the belly of the lip.

An amazing transformation with lip filler. As we get older our lips deflate and turn inwards. Because of this, the lip lines become more prominent. Many patients are afraid of lip fillers because they don’t want to “look ducky”… As you can see, replacing lost volume is a correction, not an enhancement. Natural, beautiful lips can be achieved with careful technique💋😘👍

Tip of the day: When everting (or pulling the lower lip forward) making small tiny injections into the belly of the lip will push the lip forward. As you can see, there are small injection marks where the needle was inserted.

Hooray for keeping it real ! Hopefully our industry is finally taking a look at the caricatures being created by the pressures of the media, over-zealous injectors and unrealistic expectations that come with it all…At a recent injection master course, one of the patient models received 14 (yes FOURTEEN) syringes of filler in one sitting! How is that a training model for new and naive injectors?!

Let’s start the conversation- rather than focus on extreme enhancements, these products should be injected where volume loss from aging and sagging create a sad and tired look!
