Happy World Doula Day!! ❤️
In almost all the births that I attend, I witness a moment.... Where the birthing person doubts themselves. When they think they have reached their limit of what they are capable of, and can no longer move forward. Just about every time that moment my heart breaks for them, but I trust, and I believe in the process.
Then I see the moments after that point; moments of perseverance, strength, bravery, hope, self assurance, pride, and absolute freaking beauty. I see women moving past where they thought they had nothing left, and ROARing, reaching new depths of power they had no idea was inside them all along. The opportunity to witness and support in these moments is honestly why I love my job soooo freaking much!!!

Wrapping up another year for my little Doula Biz 🤍 Five years in and I'm still awe that I can make a career out of something I love so much! I've got goals for 2024 and I can't wait to see them come to fruition.

2 Summer Months completely off call
Increased the amount of private prenatal and postpartum classes taught, and still teaching a group class every other week.
Lots of babies cuddled, many many overnights, and plenty of postpartum hours logged.

Huge huge thank you to all the growing families that trusted me enough to let me be a small part of their journey!

I feel Like a new Mother all over again.
I may need a puppy postpartum doula 🤣

Chewy, now known as Love, is going to grow up with children who will adore her along with their parents. We are thrilled our puppies are going to such wonderful homes.

I don’t often share too much about being a doula, but man o man is this a year worth bragging about. I am so very proud of the work I put in this year:
14 Births
336 Postpartum hours (including lots of overnight shifts)
3 births as a backup
1 repeat clients
2 VBACs
LOTS of prenatal yoga classes 🤷🏼‍♀️
1 Neonatal Resuscitation Cert
1 offer for an exciting position in 2023!!
What’s not mentioned in the numbers is the amount that I LOVE what I do. I love supporting families become bigger families! I love being there for people in moments that are really nice to have another person to be there with. I love holding space for vulnerability. I love the relationships we build through the process. Not to mention all the newborn baby snugs!! 💙
