From wine o'clock to runner's high 🏃♀️➡️🏃♀️➡️
(As seen in Runner's World Magazine! ➡️ After Getting Sober, She Found Her Purpose In Running)
From age 14 to 35, I lived two lives. The runner. And the wine drinker.
I used running as punishment for drinking too much. For eating too much. For feeling too much.
Then I became a mom and everything changed.
May 26, 2020, I got sober. And running became something I never imagined:
Freedom. Therapy. Adventure. My second chance.
Since sobriety, I've become a person I'm proud of. A better mom x1000. I've set PRs in every distance. Run 100 miles. Discovered what my body can actually do when alcohol isn't in the driver's seat.
Here's the truth:
Sobriety isn't about sitting in circles forever talking about the hard days. It's about discovering you're capable of 100 miles. Of PRs. Of things that once seemed impossible.
Your sobriety makes you MORE powerful, not less...
You've already survived the hardest race of your life. Now get ready for the fun part!
