So thrilled to be welcomed back home to facilitate Jung at Art ® YogArt Brush & Balance CEU workshop at The C.G. Jung Center in !

It was wonderful to connect with other mental health professionals and Chicagoland locals interested in the integration of yoga and art therapy.

Such a fantastic group of participants! I was awed by the beauty and individuality in each participant’s experiences, processes and artistic creations.
Check out their unique artwork!

A magical experience to witness the power of my passions fusing together and inspiring others.

The Sun and the Moon

Grief and loss dissolve the veil of certainty,
Once sure of my mother’s hand in mine—
To meet her gaze, to share her gentle smile,
To hear her laugh, her voice a soft design,
To find her arms, a haven all the while.

But time, unbound, slips past the measured stream,
Moments hover like a fractured dream—
Too distant now to grasp or hold,
Too near to silence, raw and bold.

Milestones fade, unmade, unmet,
A void like ink, relentless, wet—
It bleeds through every page I write,
It dims the stars, it steals the light.

Where once were mother, son, and grace,
Now echoes drift through empty space.
The promises, the hopes we knew,
Extinguished in the midnight blue.

Yet still the sun ascends the sky,
Its golden fingers gently dry
The tears that pool beneath my eyes—
And in the moon, a silence lies.
He swells above with aching glow,
And longs for arms he used to know.

A yearning sharp within my chest,
That rises uninvoked, unpressed.
It carves the soul, a wound unspoken,
Where time moves on but I stay broken.

In summer’s hush, as springtime dies,
Life flutters past, the swallow flies.
And yet beneath the vibrant play,
A quiet grief does not decay.

Only the sun and moon can glean
How fragile, brief, and dear life’s been.
Still I remain, a daughter, mother—
One to the next, bound to the other.

Grateful am I for each breath, each day,
Though time may steal the rest away.
For even when the shadows sing,
There’s solace in the light they bring.

The moon, he guides the night’s dark tide,
While sun prepares the day to rise.
Together, they in rhythm move—
A dance of loss, of light, of love.

And so, dear Mother, I implore:
See who I am, whom you adore.
Feel all the love that still runs through,
And know I'm doing this for you.

And Son, my child, so far, so near—
I send you love you still can hear.
Hold tight the hands of those who stay,
And help us find our starlit way.

The sun and moon, they share the sky,
In quiet truth, they don’t ask why.
Two halves of life, both dark and bright—
As death and life find peace in light.

1. You will always have problems. Learn to enjoy life while solving them.

2. People do not decide their futures; they decide their habits, and their habits decide their futures.

3. In life you are only in control of two things: your effort and your attitude.

4. Don't ask how to start. Start, then ask how you can improve it.

5. Happiness has less to do with pleasure and more with purpose.

6. Life is harder when you expect much from the world and little from yourself.

7. life is easier when you expect much from yourself and little from the world. High standards , low expectations

8. Half of your problems are your mind, which makes smaller things seem bigger things.

9. Don't look for secrets if all you need is repetition.

10. Don't let three things control you: people, money or past experiences.

11. In every challenge or even tragedy lies opportunity. And if you train yourself to look for opportunities, you can control the situation and even turn it into something positive. If it can't turn out into something good, at least something good can come out of it.

12. Give thanks every day, because even when you think you have no reason to give thanks, your "normal" day is someone else's dream..

In English, we say: “I miss you.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I trace the shape of your absence in the spaces where your laughter used to linger,
and let the echoes of you fill the hollow hours.”

In English, we say: “I don’t know how to let go.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I carry you in my chest like a stone—
heavy, unyielding, and carved with the sharp edges of what once was.”

In English, we say: “I feel lost.”
But in poetry, we say:
“The compass of my heart spins wildly now,
its needle drawn to places it can no longer call home.”

In English, we say: “I wish it were different.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I water the garden of could-have-beens with tears,
waiting for flowers that refuse to bloom.”

In English, we say: “I hope you’re happy.”
But in poetry, we say:
“May the sun that warms your days
be as kind to you as the first kiss of dew on the dawning light upon the leaves of the laurel that we once made love under”

In English, we say: “You hurt me.”
But in poetry, we say:
“You planted thorns in my chest with hands I once trusted,
and now every breath feels like an apology I shouldn’t owe.”

In English, we say: “I wanted to stay.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I lingered at the edge of your world,
a star burning quietly, unnoticed in your vast, indifferent sky.”

In English, we say: “I’m trying to move on.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I untangle your name from my veins each morning,
only to find it woven into my dreams again at night.”

In English, we say: “I’ll be okay.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I gather the shattered pieces of myself like broken glass,
knowing someday, even scars can catch the light.”

With poetry I write paths through gardens of grace with words in ways my body dare not go as a whole.

“Finish every day
and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities,
no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can,
tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely,
with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your
old nonsense.
This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”
