Please meet one of our peer support specialists, Brianna! She is our bilingual peer specialist who is able to provide peer support in English & Cantonese. Get to know her below:
-What’s your favorite way to relax after a long day?
I love watching my favorite shows with a warm bowl of Jin ramen, wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket!
-What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
A fun fact about me is that when I was in 4th grade, I was on the news (along with other students) for getting a perfect score on the English portion of the STAR test.
-What led you to pursue your current role?
I've always been drawn to being able to help others, especially when it comes to talking about navigating being a youth right now. I also believe strongly in educating youth on the importance of mental health, especially with our different cultural backgrounds. Learning about the resources and support that allcove provides, I knew that this was a place that I wanted to help make an impact in the community.
-What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy being able to connect with youth and getting to know all the different personalities that visit us at allcove. Whether it is at our events or just hanging out in the cove, it is always exciting hearing about their day every time they are here.
-What are you looking forward to working at allcove San Mateo?
I am looking forward to seeing allcove San Mateo expand more, especially as we just reached model integrity. Like myself, there are always more ways to grow and serve the community in the way they need!
