Reading about sustainability trends won't lower your Scope 3 emissions, but changing your supply chain will. It’s time for the pharmaceutical industry to move beyond single-use plastics and adopt permanent, infinitely recyclable aluminum packaging.

That’s why we designed a smarter solution: Pillumina’s high-quality aluminum bottles are infinitely recyclable - no fine print, no waste.

🚨 Some very important statistics highlighted in this article – did you know that the concentration of plastics in the human brain has increased by 50% since 2016?

Microplastics are no longer just an environmental issue, they’re a health concern.

A new $134M programme, jointly launched by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Environmental Protection Agency, aims to uncover the real impact on our bodies and drinking water. The Systematic Targeting of Microplastics (STOMP) initiative will not only study the biological harm of microplastics but also investigate how to safely remove them. This will involve providing an accessible clinical test for microplastics that takes less than 15 minutes.

We are still reminiscing about the incredible time we had at the Annual Meeting last month! 🌟

Getting to connect face-to-face with so many passionate pharmacy professionals was endlessly inspiring. The conversations we had proved one major thing: the healthcare industry is more than ready to leave single-use plastics behind.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth to chat, collaborate, and envision a zero-waste future for the pharmacy counter. Let's keep this momentum going! 🤝🌍

Healthcare Packaging interviews our very own Co-founder & CEO, Peter Daheb to discuss how Pillumina is revolutionizing one of the most overlooked sources of waste in healthcare, the prescription bottle.

After recognizing how deeply embedded single-use plastic is in healthcare, and how little innovation had been applied to something so widely used, Daheb and Co-founder Abe Matar saw an opportunity to challenge and disrupt an industry that has not evolved in more than 50 yeas by creating a solution that addresses both environmental impact and patient health at scale.

Our mission is simple: replace single-use plastic in pharmacy packaging with a truly circular solution. By designing aluminum prescription bottles that are infinitely recyclable, we’re helping pharmacies reduce waste while elevating the patient experience with a more durable, premium, and responsible alternative.

This isn’t just about packaging, it’s about redefining what “standard” looks like in healthcare. Sustainability and patient care should go hand in hand.

We’re proud to be part of a growing movement of pharmacies and partners who believe better is possible, for patients, for communities, and for the planet.
