From The Therapist's Chair...
"Pain doesn’t have a look.
Someone who is smiling and laughing can be deeply grieving.
Someone who appears put together can struggle with addiction.
Someone who is beautiful can be incredibly insecure.
Someone who is achieving a lot can feel broken.
Someone who acts morally can have a whole lot of shame from their past.
Someone who is wealthy may feel totally empty.
Someone who is popular can feel so alone.
Someone who seems happy can be hanging on to their last shred of hope.
Pain doesn’t have a look.
Pain doesn’t discriminate.
We can never actually know what someone is going through based on what we see from the outside.
So let’s be intentional with everyone, even if they appear to be doing well.
Let’s be kind to everyone, because we just don’t know."
