Part 1
I’ve always felt like St. Patrick’s Day brings me a little extra luck.

Back in 2014, I started the massage therapy program at UCMT on this day—and I had no idea how much it would change my life.

This path has shaped me into a stronger, more confident, more compassionate, and more giving person. It’s introduced me to incredible people whose talent and experience have helped my life truly bloom.

It wasn’t easy—school wasn’t easy, and working through it definitely wasn’t easy. But it was worth it in every way.

If you’ve ever thought about going into massage therapy, I can’t recommend it enough. It just might change your life too 🍀

Massage Therapy in real time.
This is what deep tissue looks like.
Focused work. Intentional work.

Deep Tissue can be done with a light, medium, or firm pressure, and can be tailored to match each client’s needs.

Deep tissue massage isn’t about using as much pressure as possible. It’s about slowing down, listening to the tissue, and working with precision.

Layer by layer, the body begins to soften, release, and reorganize. Real change happens when the work is thoughtful and specific.

Massage therapy is not just relaxation, it’s care for the body that carries you through life.

Can you imagine if we only put the oil on using firm pressure and a deep tissue modality? 😂

One of the ways I begin a massage session is with compression over the sheets before any oil is applied.
This is intentional. It helps introduce touch, warm up the muscles, and give the body a moment to settle into the work before we begin deeper therapeutic techniques.

I also want clients to know something important:
The moment oil is applied is not the pressure expectation for the massage.

Applying oil requires a lighter touch so the skin can be prepared without pulling or discomfort. Once the muscles are warmed and the tissue is ready, the pressure can deepen in a safe and effective way.

I sometimes notice people bracing or feeling irritated right when the oil goes on, almost like they’re expecting that light contact to be the whole massage. That tells me a lot of people may have had experiences where the pressure never changed or the work never really got into the muscle.

Massage therapy should be intentional, progressive, and responsive to the body. The opening compression is the introduction. The real work unfolds from there.

Every body deserves thoughtful, therapeutic touch.
If you’re looking for an intentional LMT that uses your preferred pressure- my link is in the bio. 🖤✨

People ask me all the time how I can do this work all day, especially with my own medical history, and honestly, I’m as surprised as you are that I’ve been able to keep up with the work. Going into this was a gamble, for sure! But if I’m gonna bet on anybody, it’s going to be on me.

A few ways I do that is with getting my own massage therapy, doing physical therapy on my own, and trying to get adequate rest. This work can be exhausting, but it’s also so rewarding.

When I worked in the corporate world and had a Desk job, I threw out my back a few times a year I would have back pain almost every day. I’m not gonna lie some days I still have pain, but me doing this work has been a real gift not just for how I get to see other others heal and find comfort through the work, but it helps me get stronger. I’ve been able to strengthen parts of me that I’ve been overlooking for years.

This work has helped heal so many parts of me, inside and out. And yes, sometimes I go home absolutely exhausted.

I’m so grateful for my LMT community and my wonderful boyfriend who will always help me if I’m needing some TLC.

After a long day at work, it’s time to stretch your muscles.

If you’re having a hard time stretching or relaxing a specific part of your body, that is a good indicator to talk with your LMT about those areas of tension.

We can focus on problem areas during your session to help with healing, circulation, strengthening, and releasing tension.

I work with many people that have chronic pain or illness and also many that have physical jobs or athletic hobbies where they have to physically perform on the day-to-day.

Your massage therapy sessions don’t always just need to be about relaxation, it can also be about repair.

Some days it feels a little out of touch and humanity tone deaf to post something celebratory when there are so many heinous, heavy, and heartbreaking things happening in the world.
But I also believe it’s important to hold space for the good.
Celebrating women is always a good call.

Lately I’ve been feeling tired — the kind of tired that reaches deep into your core. And one of the places I feel the most gratitude is my workspace and the work I get to do every day. Creating a space where people can slow down, breathe, and let their bodies rest and repair is something I’m incredibly thankful for.

If you’ve been feeling like me lately, overwhelmed, tired, or just needing a moment to reconnect with yourself- I would love to help support you in that.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, I’m offering a discounted rate this week for any she’s and they’s who would like to schedule an appointment. The session does not need to take place this week, it just needs to be scheduled this week for the coupon to apply.
✨ 90 minute massage – $90
✨ 60 minute massage – $60
Please share the savings with others as well. I would love to fill my books in celebration of how amazing women are.
I hope to see you soon. 💛

If you don’t know them in their personal life, hugging your massage therapist may feel friendly or harmless, but it crosses a professional boundary. What happens in the treatment room is therapy, not intimacy.

If you’re not hugging someone in your personal life, you shouldn’t be hugging them in their professional life either.

A gentle reminder about boundaries in the treatment room:
Massage therapy is a professional, therapeutic service. Your LMT is there to help you heal, reduce pain, and support your well-being in a safe environment. That safety has to go both ways.

The best way to show appreciation:
A sincere “thank you,” respectful communication, and honoring professional boundaries.
Tip them for their educated and skilled work.
Refer them to your friends, coworkers, and loved ones.

Thanks for your respect, time, and investments. I’m so grateful to be doing this work and I dedicate a lot of my time to show up for my clients in the best way possible.
