Laughter is more than a moment—it’s medicine. It reduces stress, boosts mood, supports the immune system, and brings people closer together.

Take a moment today to laugh a little louder—it’s good for the soul.

Volunteer Week! 💛

Meet Sarvesh – Sarvesh has been a Suncrest Volunteer for just over a month and has jumped in with both feet! He connects well with his patient due to their mutual love of sports and conversation, and he is eager to help anytime he can! Sarvesh is not only a volunteer, but also a student and business owner. He already has and will continue to do great things for the future of technology in healthcare!

Meet Robin – Robin has been a Suncrest Volunteer for 3 months. She is a wife and mom first, but she spends her spare time giving the best compassion and care to her two patients that she visits weekly, always leaning in and advocating for their specific needs. She is also always open to helping out for any last minute needs when she can.

Meet Zach – Zach has been a Suncrest volunteer for 2 months. He has a full-time job and started out just looking to fulfill some volunteer hours for work, but ended up learning more about hospice care and truly enjoying the visits. He tries to fill in where he can when time allows, and we’re thankful for his willingness to try something new!

Volunteer Week! 💛

Meet Kayla – Kayla has been a Suncrest volunteer for 4 months. She is a full-time student at Duke University, but volunteers with us when she is home in Tulsa during her school breaks. She was a huge help during the Christmas break while some of our other volunteers were away on vacation, filling everywhere she could. Kayla has a heart for people and plans to be a doctor someday!

Meet Hailey – Hailey has been a Suncrest volunteer for over a year and a half! She is a full-time student who has a heart for others and she volunteers in multiple capacities. She is a companion to her second patient now, and knows how to bring joy to those around her!

Meet Andrea – Andrea has been a Suncrest Volunteer for 4 months. She is a full-time college student who provides companionship for her patient on a weekly basis. She is thoughtful, caring, compassionate, and reliable, and she has a contagious positive energy – she exuberates joy!

The future of care is bright because of volunteers like these! Interested in volunteering? We'd love to connect!

Meet Ron and Stephen!

Here's a bit about Stephen. He has been a Suncrest volunteer for almost a year and a half! He plays piano at many of our facilities for the entertainment of not only our patients, but all the patients and caregivers in the facilities! He is a retired minister who travels between Oklahoma and Tennessee every few months, but he always makes time for volunteering when home!

"I enjoy volunteering because it makes me feel like I am making a positive change in somebody's life!"

"I volunteer for hospice for several reasons. My dad was in hospice for over a year before he died. He started with one in New Jersey and then in Pennsylvania after my parents moved to be near me. I saw how important having hospice was for my mom (who got a break while my dad was still able to reside at home with her) and then also after he moved to a skilled nursing facility. After my dad died my mom began volunteering in the local hospice office. It gave her purpose. I volunteer for two hospice organizations, doing work at home. I enjoy writing cards out for Suncrest because I know how important it is for folks to feel thought about. I love receiving 'snail mail' and I hope my little notes help to brighten the days of those who receive them."
