At Porter’s Corner, healing doesn’t always come in words… sometimes it comes with four hooves, soft wool, gentle noses, and tiny clucks. 🤍

The loving touch of animals has a way of calming hearts, restoring hope, and creating connection. From horses to goats, lambs, sheep, pigs, and chickens, every animal here plays a part in the healing journey.

We’ve loved welcoming new faces, new energy, and lots of excitement around the ranch lately. Having our new neighbors from Living Hope Equine Therapy here at Godwin Ranch Equine Performance Center has brought so much joy, especially during visits with our animals. Watching smiles, curiosity, and connection happen in real time is what makes this place so special. We’re grateful for every visitor and the beautiful community growing here.

We loved having these amazing visitors out at Porter’s Corner this morning! 🤍
Our Denton County Special Education 18+ group spent time meeting the animals, petting barn cats, feeding horses, and soaking up some fresh air and smiles all around. From tractor rides to quiet moments with our four-legged friends, it was a morning full of connection, laughter, and hands-on experiences that truly matter.

We’re so grateful to share this space and these moments.

💙 January is Coffin-Siris Syndrome
Awareness Month 💙

Porter has Coffin-Siris Syndrome, and his journey is the heart behind why Porter’s Corner was created.

From a very young age, animals played a meaningful role in Porter’s healing. Horses, especially, became a source of calm, confidence, and connection. Long before therapy had a name, the bond between Porter and animals was already helping him grow and thrive in ways words often cannot.

Seeing the impact animal interaction had on Porter showed us just how powerful animal assisted therapy can be. Porter’s Corner exists to share that same comfort, growth, and hope with others who need it.

This month, we honor Porter, raise awareness, and celebrate the healing power of animals. 🐴

We’ve had some super cute volunteers helping out around Porter’s Corner and we couldn’t be more thankful! 🐢🐴

From cleaning water buckets and soaking tortoises to grooming animals and lending a hand wherever it’s needed,every little act of care makes a big difference.
