The Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Foundation has appointed Lynn Fitzgibbons, MD, as the Craig Mally and Louise Stewart, MD, Endowed Chair in Graduate Medical Education.

This endowed position honors Dr. Fitzgibbons’ leadership in medical education and the generosity of Craig Mally and Dr. Louise Stewart, whose support strengthens Cottage’s program through research, training and technology.

“Dr. Fitzgibbons exemplifies compassionate leadership and clinical excellence,” said Scott Wester, Cottage Health President & CEO. “We are proud to recognize her with this endowed chair as she continues to shape the future of medicine.”

Cottage Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Ganesh Persad, MSBI, CHCIO, as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). His first day will be September 8, 2025.

Ganesh brings over 20 years of healthcare IT leadership, with deep expertise in digital transformation, clinical systems integration and technology strategies that enhance both patient and workforce experience. Most recently, Ganesh served as Corporate Director of Digital Patient Experience and Transformation at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta.

At Cottage Health, Ganesh will lead enterprise-wide IT strategy, overseeing the development of innovative, scalable technology solutions that support our mission and elevate the standard of care across the Central Coast.

Founded in 1888, the not-for-profit Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital has been serving the community for more than 125 years. Cottage Health, formed in 1996 as the not-for-profit parent organization of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and its affiliated Cottage Children’s Medical Center and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, and Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, is guided by a volunteer board of directors from the greater Santa Barbara community.
