Yesterday our very own CEO, Amber Williams, was featured on KSBW 8 NBC and spoke about the two major projects Janus of Santa Cruz has in the works to address the critical need for more treatment programs, a center for women and children and a new treatment facility for men. These projects were made possible by the funding provided by the state.

We here at Janus extend our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Newsom and the California Department of Health Services for their generous support through the Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program. This funding is a transformative step in expanding access to substance use disorder treatment services in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Benito, and Monterey Counties. We are thrilled to continue our mission by developing a 25-bed perinatal center dedicated to mothers and their children up to age 12, as well as converting the former Rodeway Inn into a comprehensive 120-bed treatment and outpatient facility for men. Together, we are making strides toward a healthier, more supportive community.

At Janus of Santa Cruz, mental health awareness and the whole person well-being are woven into our perinatal program - nurturing healthy mothers, healthy babies, and resilient families from the very beginning!

Join Janus of Santa Cruz as we take time to celebrate Women’s Empowerment Month! This Women’s Empowerment Month, we’re honoring the strength, leadership, and resilience of the women who make up 74% of the Janus team. Their dedication empowers our mission every single day.

Our commitment to women extends beyond our workforce. Through our Perinatal Program, we support women with compassionate, specialized care—helping them build healthier futures for themselves and their families. Their courage is at the heart of what Women’s Empowerment Month is all about.

We’re also proud to share a major step forward: a new 25‑bed residential treatment center for women and their children, funded by a BHCIP grant and opening in Watsonville in 2026. This center will expand access to recovery services and strengthen the support systems women deserve.
