A while new way to think of bone fixation. Ossiofiber nails and screws allow solid internal fixation that integrates and forms bone. The material gets sticky to the bone adding additional stability over time unlike metal which loosens. Full bio integration and no absorption. The future of fixation is here.

Bunion surgery has evolved in hardware choices. I have started using nails for many of my surgical procedures. The material is osteo integrative which means they get replaced fully by bone and actually get stronger and more sticky in the bone. Completely flush to the bone and no need to remove. No cystic changes and no absorption.

Opened this joint up today and there was no cartilage. Ended up with an implant from Arthrosurface. She will be back in a shoe in 5 days and right into physical therapy much like a knee or hip replacement. Look at last image to see how much motion we achieved. @ University Foot & Ankle Institute

15 years post surgery on the left foot looks just like day one. Straight as an arrow, no regrowth or shift. No scar and back to do the right which now hurts. Pick the right surgery, do it well and bunion surgery is highly successful. @ University Foot & Ankle Institute
