The idea for Recovered Living came from my personal experience with recovery. I spent 7 months in America being treated for my eating disorder at Monte Nido (Carolyn Costin's treatment centre) in Los Angeles, California. When I returned home, the gap between being immersed in a recovery community and being in my old environment was a huge shock. I lived in a rem

ote location and had no access to professional face-to-face support. I bridged the gap by skyping with a therapist, consulting with a dietician via email and enlisting my friends for online meal support. I eventually realised; so long as I had my laptop - I literally had a team at my fingertips. Time and again I heard stories of relapse, insurance cuts and deaths as a result of this pervasive illness. I thought to myself, imagine if professional online support was available to people all over the world! Welcome to this place, where I recovered, others recovered, and you can too.
