Most people count calories like they all do the same job in the body.
They don't.
The food you eat sends signals. It either tells your body to build, repair, and burn, or to store, slow down, and hold on. Protein is one of the strongest signals you can send for the first category. Your body spends real energy breaking it down, it keeps you full longer, and it protects the lean muscle that actually drives your metabolism.
So before you cut calories, cut confusion. Look at your plate and ask what it's actually doing for you.
Start with protein at every meal. Then build from there.
