🌟 Join Us in the Fight Against Alzheimer's 🌟

Tomorrow, I will be participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a cause that is deeply personal to many of us. Did you know that 1 in 10 people have family members affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses? This growing epidemic needs our attention and support.

We are striving for better medications and treatments, and every dollar counts. I’m asking for your support—if you can, please consider making a donation of $10 or $20. Your contribution will help fund vital research and bring us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your generosity!

From silence to song, Ryan Woodard’s journey is nothing short of remarkable.
Diagnosed with autism at age 3 and nonverbal until 9, Ryan found his authentic voice through music. By 11, he was jamming on stage with blues legend Buddy Guy. Today, at just 18, this Santa Rosa native is a gifted multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and frontman of the Ryan Woodard Band, blending blues, funk, classic rock, and surf.
Ryan’s story has already caught national attention — from viral performances with 10M+ views, to receiving a guitar and personal note from John Mayer himself. 🌍
Now an SRJC student, Ryan is honing his craft in music theory, songwriting, and recording — turning dreams of world tours and Grammys into a future within reach.
Read about Ryan’s success, resilience, and authenticity at stories.santarosa.edu. His music is a powerful reminder that limitations don’t define us — passion does.

I walk in honor of Julia, a beloved family member I cared for who lived with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. 💜 Her favorite joy was the garden, even when walking and swallowing became hard. I walk to honor her and every family touched by dementia. Together, we can make a difference. 🌻 Please donate @ http://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=18459&pg=personal&px=25422013

Person-centered care means meeting our loved ones where they are, in their own reality. Instead of creating conflict, we go with the flow—offering them a sense of control and dignity. When an activity can be done safely, we encourage it, because it brings purpose, preserves independence, and supports their abilities for as long as possible.

This approach not only reduces stress but also fosters connection, meaning, and respect—helping our loved ones live with greater quality of life. These moments provide purpose, joy, and independence, helping them maintain their abilities longer. 💜

Every step is about respect, compassion, and supporting quality of life.
