This Memorial Day, Redwood Orthopaedics is taking a moment to honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country.

We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

In observance of the holiday, our office will be closed on Monday, May 26th, and will resume normal hours on Tuesday, May 27th.

Have you ever heard of tech neck? It results from poor phone posture and can lead to shoulder pain, numbness and even headaches.

The average adult head weighs 10-12 pounds, which is supported by the bony structures, muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the neck. But when you tilt your head forward and look down, which is the common posture for texting, the weight of your head places 50-60 pounds of force on the neck.

Your neck simply isn’t built to withstand that type of force for prolonged periods. The result is muscular and ligamentous strain and other structural issues that cause the symptoms associated with tech neck.

A straightforward way to avoid it is to raise your phone to eye level.

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).

🔸Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move more, the pain normally decreases, but it may return after long periods of standing or after rising from sitting.
