Hurricanes, we’ve been through so many in recent years teach you a lot. It taught me to rebuild my fence to withstand 150 mph winds. Start with 12’x4”x3”x.125” aluminum posts. All fences that get taken out break or bend wheee the wood 4x4 meets the ground. Not this time. Then we used 16’ long 2x4’s to catch 3 posts instead of 2. All screwed with 2ea. 1/4”x2-1/2” self tapping HG screws. Every 8’x5/8” picket has 8ea HG ring shank nails. Inside board is double nailed because of overlap. No one will build your fence like this because it’s expensive but it’s there, I mean it isn’t going anywhere. I still have seal all the boards when finished but for a spare time project after my entire fence was destroyed by Milton, we’re getting there. Yes we can do it for others, we can build you walls, we can build anything period. But this raises the bar for wood fences, all built in place and it was expensive. Buy once, cry once 😂.
