Well, well, well, this is what happens when no one challenges Sarasota County. A few years ago it was mooring balls installed by Marina Jacks and then they charged for anchoring your boats there. You also can not anchor anywhere near downtown, which by Maritime Law is illegal for the CIty of Sarasota to do. No one challenged them. Now we have the County charging 1200.00 dollars for Water related companies to pick up and discharge passengers at any dock or park in Sarasota! Again this goes unchallenged. They are only issuing 37 permits for Central section, and 42 for Northern section etc. So someone please tell me who will be the lucky companies to win these permits in such short supply? Bribes anyone? These scumbags in Sarasota County are pathetic to ruin the lively hoods of Charter Boat Captains and ruin their business for money to line their pockets. The 10th Street Boat Ramp is now charging 10 dollars top launch a boat (Currently suspended due to hurricane damages) and 5 dollars top park a car. And now they are charging 100 dollars per month for the privilege of picking up and dropping off pf passengers. Whats next Sarasota? Are you going to now charge boaters for the right to use the waterways in and around Sarasota? Don't laugh as thats the next step in the control mongers in Sarasota. Pathetic abuse of power and control from these few people whom sit on these boards. They are hell bent on destroying the way of life as we know it here in Sarasota, the greed and corruption go unchecked. Sooner or later we will all be paying Sarasota for things that were free. Sad days indeed.
