Find Your Follow Through

Find Your Follow Through Helping people identify, pursue and achieve their goals through small group team support.

Success Teams are small groups in which members dedicate their efforts to helping each other find and achieve their goals. These groups are a place where everyone is equally invested in each other's success. Team members collectively create a supportive environment that celebrates success, resources needs, and holds space for the ups and downs of risk taking as each member takes steps toward their dreams. I offer 8 week facilitated Success Team Workshops for those who want to connect with others wanting to start a team while also working in depth through Author and Success Coach Barbara Sher's materials, methods and message. The Workshop guides members through the content of her best selling book - Wishcraft: How to Get What You Really Want.

Finding My Way

This year I’ve really taken this idea to heart and launched myself into the world of learning in motion.

It’s been fun, terrifying and everything else in between.

However, the last few weeks I’ve found myself spinning into impenetrable bouts of confusion.

After some processing with some of my support system (thank you ), a wonderful values workshop with the lovely and some conversations within my licensing cohort, I was able to see what was going on.

I need time to recalibrate.

Confusion is a gift. It’s an emotional stop sign signaling a disconnect between our values, intentions and actions.

While I started many of my projects with these things in harmony my soul has been yearning for a moment to pause, reflect and realign. Because as we learn and grow our intentions and goals may need shifting as well.

And so these next few weeks I will be focusing on giving space for examination, reflection and dreaming. Those intangible things don’t always look like progress, but they are an essential part of the process.

If you’ve found yourself in the fog of confusion lately I encourage you to stop and listen. Are you in touch with your values and intentions? And are your actions flowing from these places? Or is your soul craving a moment to stop and realign?

And if you’ve been looking for a place to share, listen and receive as you work through the confusion and next steps in your journey check out the link in my bio.

So...I made an art account 🤭🤭🤭

Even though I have a degree in fine arts/illustration and drawing is one my most honed skills, I have to admit that this feels very vulnerable.

You see, I was always very good at finishing class projects, but creating outside of the classroom was NEVER my comfort zone.

I never really knew what I wanted to create and felt bad for not fitting my inner definition of “artist”.

This year I gave myself freedom to revisit this question without judgement.

And in that space I found the ability to reclaim the term artist for myself.

So join me over at if you’d like to follow along ☺️ Id love to have you be a part of the journey!

I’d love to know: Has this year birthed any reawakening of dormant interests, hobbies or skills in you? Drop a comment or a link to your acct below and share what you’ve been doing!

Are you investing in yourself?

I was recently listening to a business talk where the host said something that stopped me in my tracks.

He said “How can you expect someone to invest in you and your business if you’re not actively investing in yourself.”

Hmm...

I had never put these ideas together before.

But as I thought about it more deeply, I realized there was a deeper truth being communicated here.

[The ways in which we invest in ourselves communicates to the world how we view ourselves.]

So the question is, what are our choices communicating?

This past year has been the year of my biggest self investment. And it’s not coincidental that this movement has come as I have begun seeing my value with greater clarity.

As I have seen myself as worthy, I have made decisions in alignment with that view of myself.

But sometimes we can find ourselves stuck in a rut of unworthiness. This can pile up and start manifesting in all areas of our lives, from the way we dress, to the way we eat, to the way we care for our bodies, to the way we spend our time.

In these seasons I’ve found there is great power when we choose to invest in ourselves despite how we feel.

This investment can be anything from a new pair of pants to a painting class to starting therapy.

It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it communicates to you that you are valuable, you are worthy and your dreams, desires and needs matter (because they do!).

So I encourage you, take some time to sit with yourself and reflect:
✨What areas are you investing in yourself?
✨Are there any areas of your life that are communicating self neglect?
✨What’s one thing you can do this week to pour into that area of neglect and reaffirm your worth?

When is the last time you did something free of agenda?

Over the weekend I was part of an online self care retreat for my emotional health licensing program. On day two, we had an hour where we all collectively did art as emotional expression.

This was hard for me.

As someone with a degree in fine arts I’ve created a lot of shadow in myself around creative expression.

Somewhere along the way I lost art as a way of connecting with myself. I became very focused on outward approval and perfectionism. Art became a product I had to produce and not a means of expression.

Sadly, I let part of myself wither because I had started to hold myself to unlivable inner beliefs about my creativity.

Then this past weekend I took out a paint brush for the first time in a long time.

I erased all agenda. I felt. I painted. I flowed with the moment.

There was no “good” or “bad” there was just creation.

It was liberating. And as art always does, it showed me lessons about the whole of life.

What we believe can stifle or free us. Our inner landscape paints the portrait of our life.

So next time you find yourself hitting a wall take a moment to go inward. What is the story you are telling yourself about this? Is that story helpful or is it holding you back?

What do you need next on your journey toward your dream?

As I’ve been connecting with creators and entrepreneurs over the past few months I’ve been reflecting on the power of clarity.

When we are clear on what need we can focus our energies in the right place to meet those needs.

I’ll be honest, I’ve got a bad track record with this. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to meet wrong needs at the wrong time. I get impatient and want to jump ahead (usually to the more flashy steps in the process).

Yet, we can’t build anything lasting if we haven’t laid the foundation first.

When I start spiraling into confusion overwhelm, I find that asking questions is powerful. Below is a list of categories with questions I created to help myself when I’m unsure of the next step in my process:

✨Knowledge✨
Do I need information or understanding?
✨Experience✨
Do I need lived experience or practice?
✨Beliefs✨
Do I need to change the way I think?
✨Resources✨
Do I need materials, access, or time?
✨Tools✨
Do I need methods or strategies?
✨Structure✨
Do I need to create a plan or environment?
✨Support✨
Do I need connection, encouragement or accountability?

Now, you may think “I need several of these!!” — In those moments I ask myself: “Which one of these do I need first to enable me to move forward on the rest?”

Maybe you need to do some mindset shifting before you can create a clear plan. Maybe you need a support system before you can gather resources. Maybe you need some practice before you can apply a new strategy.

Whatever it is, invest time in getting clear. Clarity has the power to propel you forward.

Is your environment serving you?

I’ve been reflecting a lot recently on the impact environment has on us. Often we find ourselves living or working in environments that are problematic, restrictive, unhealthy or down right toxic.

When we are constantly in environments that are wrong for us and that require us to be something we aren’t, we can sometimes start to believe that there is something wrong with us.

Here’s a recent example:
After I had my daughter my body changed significantly. I found myself unable to wear 90% of my pre-pregnancy wardrobe. I decided to keep all my clothing with some hope that one day I might use them again. But as time went on it was clear these clothes would never be of use to me again. I found myself feeling constantly at odds with this reality and genuinely struggling to accept myself.

After months of blaming myself I stepped back and took a look at my environment. I realized I had not removed any of my pre-pregnancy clothing from my dresser and had not bought any new clothing that actually fit. So, every time I got dressed I was staring at drawers of clothing that I couldn’t wear. Every time I got dressed I was wrongly absorbing the idea that something was wrong with my body.

So I changed the environment. I cleaned out all the clothing that was no longer serving me, ordered a few new basics to start a new wardrobe and filled one of my drawers with things from my bedroom desk that needed storage space.

I felt an immediate shift.

Because environment matters. What we are surrounded with day in and day out creates the background of the story we end up telling ourselves.

Is your environment serving you?
Is there anything you can change that would better serve your mental, emotional or physical wellbeing?

This is what prioritizing as a Mom looks like right now.

The table is filled with a half eaten breakfast, the sink is overflowing with dishes, and I’ve been wearing the same clothes for the last couple days, but I’m happy and making progress on my dreams.

I’ve finally come to fully accept that you can’t give everything 100%. It’s mathematically impossible.

Priorities are where you have to make trade offs with your time. It’s where the rubber meets the road of what you truly value.

Since becoming a Mom, I’ve had to learn to let go of a lot of internal contracts that kept me feeling guilty and conflicted. I have had to do the deep work of setting my inner compass to what I truly value and make constant choices to steer in my time in that direction.

So, for now, the house is disheveled, the bed is unmade, the dishes are piled up, but I have what I value - time with my family and space for my passions.

All that other stuff will get finished.....eventually 😉

I’d love to know:
Is prioritizing easy or difficult for you?
What trade offs are you currently facing with your allocating your time?

2020 was quite the year to adjust to being a new mother.

It was a year of great losses, uncertainty, fears, anxieties and what the heck am I going to do now moments.

Yet motherhood also provided a beautiful grounding in all the chaos. No matter what else was happening, this small, innocent little human kept on doing what babies do - living in the moment and discovering the awe of a world filled with beauty and mystery.

Being a mother this year was a tether to the reality of what matters most - love, connection, meaning and finding joy in the wonder of existence. Her presence helped me continue to anchor to the deeper things in life.

And as I continue to grow and change as a result of the huge life shifts that occurred this year, I cherish the clarity her life has brought to mine.

Because of her I am reminded daily to keep building a life that makes space for being present, savoring beauty, connecting deeply and pursuing my passions.

May we all find connection to that deeper well of wonder and presence as we enter into 2021.

Life is a journey to know yourself and to live your unique path to its fullest.

One of my favorite but simple exercises is to write out your ideal average day. Add and expound upon whatever feels important to you without filtering or holding back. Then go back through and ask a few questions about what you notice:

➡️ Who are you with?
➡️ Where are you spending your time?
➡️ What types of activities are you doing?

Then identify what’s currently present in your life and where reality differs.

I like to view this exercise like a life check point. In this exercise you look at where you are, where you want to be, what you have and what you need. Then you can decide what needs adjustments and make plans to meet those needs.

I’ve done this exercises a few times this year. Each time it changes as I’ve learned more about myself. Each time the picture gets a little clearer and I realize the power I have to shape the reality I want to create.

Because when we identify what we value and need we can make plans to shape our life to that create that reality.

➡️ What tools have helped you learn more about yourself?
➡️ Do you have any regular check in processes that help you observe, adjust and clarify your goals?

You don’t need to do it alone.

“People will give you all the help and support you need if you just give them a place in your garden.” - Barbara Sher

Something I’ve been observing this year is that people naturally love to help each other. Give someone an obstacle you’re facing and they can’t help but start trying to find ways to solve it for you. It’s like a problem solving reflex.

I suspect it comes from us being social beings by nature. One person alone can be very capable, but bring a community of people together and that’s when things really get moving. It’s the genius of collective power.

This tendency toward collaborative effort shows us that success is not some one sided reward. When one person in a community succeeds it benefits the whole.

Being a part of someone else’s success story is energizing, motivating and it helps us believe our own success is possible.

So if you’ve been stuck thinking you need to do it alone, let this message serve as a reminder that it’s not selfish or weak or cheating to ask for help.

Other people want to invest in your success, just give them a place in your garden.

Creativity, risk and bringing forth something new into the world bring with them a huge mix of emotions. It can be really challenging some days. If you’re feeling the struggle, here are some gentle reminders today:

✨The highs & lows are normal
✨It’s okay to feel all the things
✨Approach your experience with curiosity
✨Listen & learn from your discomfort
✨Remember you are not alone 💛

Do you have anyone asking you this question?

It can be really challenging to learn to receive from others. I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t always been the best at it.

One of the things I love about Success Team Workshops is the way learning to receive is practiced. Every week each team member is responsible for checking in on another teammate and asking: “How can I support you today?” This question is only allowed to go one way, so the person being asked can’t pass the spotlight. By doing this, everyone gets a moment each week to practice being solely on the receiving end of this question.

This can be hard, but also transformative.

Because in the vulnerability of receiving we find the power of connection.

So if you don’t have anyone asking you this question in your life right now, let me pose it to you now: “How can I support you today?”
