I’m doing a little research on the elderberry syrup market to see if it would be financially feasible for me to sell mine. So, here is a comparison of what’s considered a good brand and my syrup:
Sambucol- 2 teaspoon serving. Made from elderberry juice concentrate from France, sweetened with glucose.
My syrup- 2 teaspoon serving. Made from fresh local organic elderberries picked by me. Sweetened with organic raw honey, with cinnamon, clove, and ginger. No preservatives. Just lemon juice to add acidity for canning. Mine is 32 ounces which comes to 96 servings. That is immune support that will take you through the worst of cold and flu season. I’m thinking about $100 per jar since I put about 10 hours of work in per quart when I break down all of my labor.
