There’s a lovely juxtaposition of grit and beauty when working in floral design. We all seek the breathtaking end- the work that connects our response to beauty and the ephemeral✨, and it is also only possible because of the tireless labors and passions of others that bring each of these blossoms to gorgeous life so I may work them together.

Many thanks to local flower farmers, who produce flowers with a commitment to sustainable practices, who grow the unique and memorable varieties and help us anchor designs in season and place. Immense gratitude for your efforts.💛

So much time to think. Consider. Rest. Refocus. 2024 ended with increased planning and care for my Dad, followed by my ankle reconstruction in January, and ongoing shoulder PT. In that respite, the world changed dramatically. Perhaps like you, I find I’m still finding my voice and my place in it all. I’ve cherished the upcoming wedding dates, planned and planted with hope. I’ve also wondered what impact sustainable flowers still has for those also navigating the world as it is and my place in it. Stepping away from social media for a bit has also given me peace. Not easy in this business, but there’s been some positive impact for me.✨

The flowers returned this week. Bright fluffy butter yellow and the most delicate hints of blush and apricot…fancy daffs and early tulips offering a gentle nudge to get back out there. If you’ve read this far, I’m grateful for your listening. I promise more to come. 💐

✨2024 Lookback✨

The run up to surgery this week was busier than expected. In fact, much of life in December and January was more than..😳 The quiet space I’m feeling now enables a look back on 2024 with greater appreciation for the many varied opportunities to flower you. We were delighted to bring elevated, sustainable designs to your weddings, locally grown flowers to Savage’s inaugural farmers market, design magical florals to introduce , and bring a variety of our specialty-grown flowers to our clients‘ homes throughout the year.

Like you, I’m navigating the meaning of all that 2025 may bring with a range of emotions. I sometimes find myself questioning the role of flowers in this. And I keep coming back to something simple. ✨Beauty and nature matter. 🌱The local connection to their source matters. Honoring their connection to the soil and life within matters. And the feelings of joy they evoke in you matters.✨

Here’s to the connection of what is real, natural, and evokes joy in 2025.✨🤍

A golden birthday celebrated for my girl. A treasured group of friends and a garden party vision collaboratively brought to life.

It’s a joy to behold Kathryn’s gift for sharing the lightness and depths of life with those she holds dear. I’m delighted to walk beside her and create together. Here’s to many more 💫💕🎂

A day to give great thanks and celebrate our Maryland roots and products…

We were delighted to partner with Sarah from to create floral arrangements for Governor Wes Moore’s Cookout to highlight Maryland Buy Local week.

What a great time enjoying the creations of Maryland chefs and food/beverage producers! I was obsessed with Brian Voltaggio’s blue crab pop tart, and the crab macaroni and cheese will be in my dreams. 🤤

All in all, a timely reminder that connection and inspiration are in your backyard, in the diversity of your neighbors and their stories.

This native Marylander was celebrating! Get yourself some locally grown goodness this weekend! ❤️💛🖤

🚨We will have our flowers at a special shortened
due to high temps
TODAY 5-7:30pm

We’re in shade under the trees. Come join us and enjoy a quick grab and go of our flowers and your favorite market goods.

The flowers are beautiful. We’d love to brighten your mid-week.🩷

PS. Your farmers need some love during this extended drought and heat wave. Really. The need for irrigation alone means wells running low or dry. Those of us on city water are literally losing money spending exorbitant amounts to keep our crops alive. If you value local produce and flowers, it’s a beautiful time to show your love.💛💛

Monday mornings of late have been busy in the beds and on the business backside. Muted by soft rains and birdsong, much planting, bed turning, and continued seed starting occupies the grower side of things. Proposals, client email, ordering, and wedding production is popping on the design side.

In an industry of immediate fulfillment, I comfort in standing firm in a softer, human-centered model. When planning your special event or wedding, there are many moving parts and decisions. I delight in shifting a major “task” toward something that feels less stressful.

It’s a delight to approach event florals in a client-centered process that connects you to the natural rhythms of the growing garden. Imagine planning your event palette for the following year, with Indigo & Ivy to custom grow many of the varieties? Our clients have enjoyed this bespoke service, often coming to visit the gardens to visit their future florals.

We trust in local first sourcing beyond our own cuts, with our design practices firmly rooted in sustainable floristry.

We delight in offering you elevated florals that feel good. If you’re considering florals for your special event or wedding, we have a few remaining spots for 2024. Our books are open for 2025, and we’re currently booking.🌸

Let’s get acquainted today.🤍
