Curate Soul

Curate Soul a curated space to explore yoga, ayurveda, and yoga nidra welcome! i'm shea, the curator of curate soul. i'm always seeking my own true dharma. things will change.

my goal is to inspire you to curate the best version of yourself. to do that, i have curated a space where you can find yoga classes, small batch essential oils, recipes, articles, and various other tutorials, guides, or inspirations to help you along your path. you are welcome to pick what works for you and leave that which serves you no purpose on your journey. i don't claim to know how to find your soul, i can only claim that my personal search has taught me that i want to inspire others. i want to inspire by creating personal yoga practices, individual essential oil blends, and a space for you to become informed, inspired, and mostly, just be your true self. no matter how many things you have to pick up or put down, how many revisions you have to make, find joy and gratefulness in the process of curating your soul. some of you may ask, "what gives her the right - what credentials does she have - who is she anyway?..." -

well, i'm a seeker. i'm constantly seeking inspiration through various channels. when i stop seeking, i stop feeling like i'm being true to my nature. i'm a perpetual student and constantly need to learn. i will never claim to know it all. i only know that my life is a constant journey and i seek to become the best version of my self. my favorite thing about this life journey is that i can constantly fine tune what works for me. it's a completely personal journey that will never end in perfection, just hopefully a better version. (yes, typical virgo here) some constant tools that i have used to inspire my journey are yoga, essential oils, herbs, cooking, reading, nature, teachers, family, and friends. hopefully you will find or curate all of that here with me. my yogic journey began almost 20 years ago in my mother's living room with a yoga vhs tape. it was a spotty journey for a while and then something just clicked! i am now a 200 hour ryt, registered with yoga alliance. i completed my training at yoga shala school of tantra, yoga, and ayurveda. i develop yoga sequences to create specific energetics in the body, balancing the sun and moon aspects of our nature. not only do i curate a physical practice but i weave in breath work and meditation allowing a complete balancing of the mind, body, and spirit. to compliment my yoga practice, i have added essential oils. for years i have used oils to balance my mood, treat skin conditions, or add a personal touch to my beauty regimen. as i have researched and used these naturally magic potions, i have begun to understand their true properties. i hope to share their same magic with you. as this space grows, it will transform, just like our souls. somethings will work while other things won't. i will gather things that inspire me so as to inspire you and i will let go of those things that don't serve the larger purpose of curate soul. please know that your feedback, ideas, and general conversation is always welcome. don't hesitate to reach out and curate with me.

🚨yoga for the doshas - session 3🚨 january 17th, 1230-2pm

this session is all about balancing kapha, the earth and water qualities that are predominate during late winter and early spring.

have you noticed if it’s harder to get out of bed in the mornings during winter? does your digestion feel sluggish? is your mind a little cloudy or sleepy feeling, even after getting a decent night’s sleep? maybe you’re experiencing a general sense of low energy or excitement for life…

this session will open with a short chat orienting you to the particular ayurvedic season, the dominant elements and their qualities, and suggested opposite therapies to create health, harmony, and resiliency. i’ll guide you through a seasonal pranayama (breathwork) practice, followed by yoga asana (movement), and a nourishing savasana. the session will close with time for reflection or questions. all participants will receive a PDF with suggested seasonal rituals/practices that you can incorporate into your daily routine as well as a few seasonal recipes that you can add into your menu rotation.

you’ll leave the class with various tools to support melting through the heavy and sticky qualities that this cold and wet season tend to increase. it’s also my hope that some of your excitement for life will be restored as you lean into these practices that will reignite your inner fire.

so, if you’re looking for some support, i’d love to have you join me on the 17th!

all participants will receive access to the recorded class for the duration of the season. this means that you can practice as many times as you like during the season so that you can see/feel/notice for yourself, the benefits of aligning yourself with nature and how doing so supports your vitality. individual sessions are $45 each.

i hope you’ll join me, whether in-person, virtually, or via a recorded session.

🌿 calling all 200 hr YTT grads!!! 🌿

take your teaching and your personal practice to a new level with this 30 hour module that’s part of the 300 hour yoga teacher training

i remember curating my very first ayurvedic offering back in 2017...it was a full weekend workshop full of theory, practices, and ritual! but, for many reasons, it didn’t come to fruition (and for the best). since then, i have created and shared many different ayurvedic offerings, worked with dozens of private clients, and mentored yoga teachers looking to use the wisdom of ayurveda in their personal practice and their own offerings.

this 30 hours module is a gathering of all those experiences and continued study of ‘the science of life’. and now i am so ecstatic to share with you ‘applied ayurveda: assessing ayurvedic blueprints’.

in this weekend long module, may 9th-11th, we will review the foundational theories of ayurveda: elemental energetics, the three doshas, and the ayurvedic time clock. you’ll have the opportunity to explore your current blueprint and learn more about the connecting thread of yoga and ayurveda, prana. using foundational theory and the sub-doshas of vata (5 pranas), you’ll discover how to sequence asana for harmonizing the doshas or attuning to the seasons. you’ll also learn subtle body techniques of pranayama and meditation through an ayurvedic lens and leave the weekend being able to confidently apply ‘opposite therapy’ for healing through various yogic approaches. you will be able to take this knowledge and apply it to your own ayurvedic blueprint as well as class offerings and private client sessions.

when: may 9th-11th

🌷AYURVEDIC WORKSHOP🌷

Ayurveda is a powerful holistic healing science that offers us the tools to live our most vital life. By knowing our ayurvedic blueprint we hold a deeper understanding of our inherent strengths and possible challenges regarding our health and healing. With this knowledge we are able to make informed decisions that keep us thriving and feeling our best, in mind, body, and spirit.

Ayurveda views each of us like a thumbprint; utterly unique but not separate from the whole. We are a microcosm that reflects the macrocosm. This means there is no singular path to health and healing, and at the same time, many ayurvedic practices will support all of us.

During this 2-hour workshop you’ll have the opportunity to discover your own individual Ayurvedic Blueprint and learn nourishing practices that support your vitality. I’ll introduce you to key ayurvedic concepts and rituals in an approachable and accessible way.

Some of the concepts you will explore will touch on the history of ayurveda, 5 element theory, the 3 doshas, and ‘healing with opposites’. You will also be guided through several practices that you may choose to add to your day; supporting digestion, immune function, and your creative and energetic spark that lights the world!

Please feel free to bring anything that you may wish to take notes with. Resource materials will be provided so that you can carry this wisdom with you and begin applying it in life, if that is your desire.

🌕 🍂🍯 seasonal transitions + vedic festival season🍯🍂🌕

today has been spent honoring ancestors, specifically the women on my father’s side, who helped care for their lineage through the meals they prepared and the recipes that they have shared.
🍯
today marks the beginning of pitr paksha - the fortnight of the ancestors. i spent the morning digging through my great grandmother’s, great-great aunt’s, and grandmother’s recipes. i used some of these recipes, written in their beautiful hand, and started an ancestor altar on my west-facing kitchen windowsill (in the vedic tradition, ancestor altars face west) which also houses several pothos plants that began as clippings from a plant my great grandmother grew.
🍯
and while listening to teachings on karma from my teacher , i was able to make ghee before the upcoming lunar eclipse 🙌🏻 and a squash and onion quiche for later. yellow squash, caramelized onion, and the smell of ghee all remind me of these women who nourished the whole family with delicious food and helped inspire my love of cooking today!
🍯
remembering these strong and nurturing women fondly, especially today and i’m grateful for their many boons and blessings.
🙏🏼🌕🙏🏼

🌿 i’m really leaning into the teachings of ayurveda this year 🌿

in my weekly classes my bhav is yoga practice through the lens of ayurveda…i’m taking you through the energetics of the five elements (space, air, fire, water, earth) throughout 2024 and applying ayurvedic concepts like ‘the ayurvedic time clock’ and ‘opposite therapy’ to yogasana, pranayama, meditation, and mantra. i’m excited to weave ayurvedic concepts with yoga technologies as well as yoga philosophy. my hope is that you’ll deepen your relationship to your Self and remember that you are a reflection of the universe.
🌌
out of this year long bhav, i have created a 3 part series that will take you on a deeper exploration into incorporating ayurveda into your yoga practice as well as your daily life. following the ayurvedic time clock and using opposite therapy to create harmony within and without, each session of the series aligns with the ayurvedic seasons (or doshas).
☀️
the first session, exploring how to harness and balance the energy of fire (pitta) takes place on wednesday, june 5th from 12-130pm . each session will include a chat on the current dosha/season and ways to create a sense of balance, mitigating any excess elemental influence that can lead to dis-ease. i’ll guide you through yoga movement, pranayama, and meditation that’s seasonally inspired. you’ll also receive a pdf of seasonal rituals + recipes that can support you through the whole season.
🌿
sessions are in-person or via zoom. you’ll also receive access to the recording for the duration of the season so that you can come back to it as many times as you wish. so if you can’t make it on june 5th, consider joining anyway because you’ll get all the practices included in the recording and a copy of the pdf.
🌿
$45/session
$108/series
$75/recordings + PDFs only
