A night of missile fire in southern Israel - Soroka Medical Center treated approximately 180 casualties from two simultaneous attack scenes.
Last night, following missile strikes in Dimona and Arad, Soroka Medical Center received wave after wave of casualties, children, parents, entire families pulled from damaged homes and rushed to the only major hospital in the Negev.
In total, more than 180 injured civilians arrived within a short time from two separate impact sites. Among them was a 12-year-old boy in serious condition who was taken straight to surgery during the night, along with other patients requiring urgent, lifesaving care.
Trauma teams, operating rooms, inpatient departments, mental health professionals, and the staff of Saban Children’s Hospital worked without pause as dozens of surgeries were performed through the night.
But the response did not end in the operating room.
Social workers worked to reunite parents with children, spouses with one another, and families who arrived in shock after their homes were damaged or destroyed. Together with local authorities, the teams helped arrange shelter, transportation, and continued care, making sure no one faced the night alone.
Since October 7, Soroka has been operating under constant emergency readiness, treating the wounded while protecting patients and staff under fire.
Even in the most difficult moments, the mission remains the same: to save lives, care for families, and stand with the entire Negev community
