Coach Rylee reporting for duty 🫡

78 days until the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon! Over the next 11 weeks (starting Monday) I’ll be training members of the for their race weekend! 💙

Every athlete has different goals, from crossing the finish line for the very first time to hitting a new PR, and I get to support them through it all! Training, strength, nutrition, race strategy, and everything in between.

This is my favorite part of what I do: being alongside athletes in training, helping them reach their goals, and watching all the hard work show up on race day.
(And cheering as loud as I possibly can!)

Can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes in Indy with

Will we see you there?!? ✨

How it started vs how it ended 😅

Chip Time: 3:24:33

In the final 3-4 miles of Tunnel Vision Marathon I genuinely thought I was going to come in around 3:21. I was fighting but thought I had enough speed in the earlier miles to give me some extra BQ buffer.

At mile 25 the 3:25 pacer announced behind me “3:25 pacer” and I screamed.

I had one job for the next 1.2 miles, do not let him pass me.

My calves were cramping uncontrollably.
I saw stars.
HR was 206.
But we got it done with a half minute to spare.
Oops.
Guess my runner’s math did me dirty this time. 😅

From “I hate running” to “I wonder how fast I can run 26.2” 😂🏃‍♀️

I am so proud of the effort I put into this last training block.
My “year of speed” and truly the first time I ever tried to officially get “faster” in the marathon.

A few side quests between the 5 year span with ultramarathons, fun marathons, and Ironman Triathlons. But I wouldn’t change a thing!

I don’t know what I enjoy most yet. 🤔
Training for speed? Training to see how far I can go?

All I know right now, 1 day after hitting another marathon PR is that I love the process. I love showing up everyday and giving my all in training and putting it to the test on race day.

I am proud of my progress!! We almost shaved off an entire hour! Woah!!

Thank you for being here and supporting every challenge of mine!! 🥰🤝

✈️We are headed to Seattle, Washington because it’s almost time for HYPE FEST 2025!

Last year I had the opportunity to speak to the Brooks Running Collective about my journey, all things social media, meet the members, and participate in all the weekend activities!!

✨This year I was presented with opportunity to take on more of a leadership role with Brooks and get to return as the Brooks Running Collective Run Coach & Content Creator!!

You never know who is listening and what one opportunity may lead to. I am so grateful for this partnership.

I can not wait for a weekend full of running!!

I was so prepared to run, but I had no clue what happened when it was all done…👇🫢

Here are 3 things I wish someone told me before running the Chicago Marathon:

1. There is one small hill around mile 21 and after running a very flat course, to me it looked and felt like a mountain. I remember being upset that everyone said the race was flat but failed to mention this moment. 🫢😅 I do remember was there cheering on runners so loud it made it easier to climb. Some people will walk this portion, I chose to run to make it go by faster. Do what works for you, but be prepared!! This year I am going in with a better plan.

2. After I crossed the finish line I felt SO LOST and LONLEY. Strange I know. I was surrounded by other runners who had just accomplished this incredible challenge, but I felt so alone at the same time. I followed the flow of people and grabbed a water, a blanket, and a banana and collected myself for a minute.

I remember some runners looking at one another smiling. A smile back goes a long way. Some people were crying, others sitting on the ground, others throwing up. Everyone was in their own world. I just took in the moment but kept myself from sitting as I feared I might not want to stand up again.

It wasn’t until I got my medal from a very kind volunteer that I realized I was done. It took me about 10 minutes to process.

3. The walk to my family/the spectators section was about a mile long. Which took me about 25 minutes as I hobbled my way over. 😅 I decided to call Chase and my mom at this time so they knew I finished the race and could be on the look out for me. At this point it was so nice to hear some familiar voices as other races I have done I saw my family right after the finish line. I didn’t realize how far it would be OR feel. I wish I would have grabbed an extra Gatorade or water and went to the bathroom before making the trek!

I hope maybe this is helpful for anyone who has gone through these feelings at the end/post race feel less alone or helpful for someone running Chicago for their first time! It is an incredible race, hence why I am running it again for the 3rd time!!
