Another Doula Spotlight from the Chadron area!! ❤️

My name is Maddy Jones, I’m a wife, mother to four, registered nurse, birth doula, and lactation specialist. I live near Chadron, Nebraska and serve women and their families in northwest Nebraska. Other than my time as a labor and delivery nurse, I’m also a CBD (Certified Birth Doula) through a Christian organization called A Women Who Serves (AWWS), and have completed many physiological birth trainings. I love getting to know my clients and their families and love getting to be able to support them through such a special journey. Whether you need counter pressure with each contraction, someone to help advocate for you, or just a quiet support person to sit in the corner, I’m your gal. I work for you. I also sell NORA tea and have a birth pool available for rental.

New to the area!!!

It is so wonderful having other doulas join in this sacred work of birth. As I just can't take all the mamas who reach out, I wanted to give you another local option.

Who would be interested in a meet and greet with doulas in the area?

Meet Kaiden Spirz ❤️

A sweet note I was told I could share from a birth near the end of last year...

"Dear Lucinda,
Thank you a million times for being such an incredible support before and during the birth of Esmee. To this day I think about my birth experience almost everyday when I look at my baby and how incredible it was. To me, everything happened so perfectly that I wouldn't have changed a thing. You provided the perfect balance of guidance and comfort, and we will forever cherish your role in our birth story.

Choosing a natural unmedicated birth was the hardest and most empowering thing I have ever done, and I'm so glad I did. I was so proud of myself for doing it, and discovered a strength that I never knew I had. Your unwavering belief in my strength and endless support made it possible. I honestly can't imagine having gone through this experience without you by my side. Thank you for helping my husband feel included and for showing how he could help me. He appreciates everything.

Thank you for your wisdom, care, and for giving me the confidence I needed through it all. I thank God for bringing you into our lives and are honored to have shared this unforgettable time with you! You are truly amazing at what you do!" -Aime

Some days I question my sanity living the on call life. I've debated whether or not to even continue being a doula.... but gracious, I love supporting you all so much.

Today I was feeling the reminder as my husband was told he could take his family on a last minute work trip, and of course, we can't actually go.

I checked my mail and found this sweet gift basket, and a few days ago a mom dropped off these flowers with a precious note. Then it was as though God said, Lucinda, what you do matters, and where I have you right now is important.

So here I will stay with a contented heart. Holding mamas sacred space. ❤️

For those of you wondering: yes, I do schedule times without births to just be with my family. Balance is important. I haven't forgotten. 😉

Birth is so special. I could want you to do it my way, but if I did, then it wouldn't be your perfect birth story. I will always support your decisions. ♥️ From another family...

“She is incredible” - my husband talking about Lucinda after the birth of our daughter. And he’s not wrong!

Lucinda was a wealth of knowledge and support through out my pregnancy. She was always a listening ear (and not judgmental or pushy) which was really important to me.

As labor progressed and I neared close to 42 weeks my plans and thoughts around this birth changed. Lucinda kept me positive, clear headed and encourage me to have the birth I wanted and needed. Not what I thought anyone else wanted of me.

When we transferred to a different hospital than planned due to time she stayed confident in support and never left my side. Except when she ran back to my house to collect me my dinner after (like are you kidding me?! An angel.)

We had a wonderful experience and will continue to hire Lucinda as long as we continue having children!!

Birth has a stigma around it that is hard to face.

Do we home birth because it is intimate. Special. Sacred?

Do I hospital birth because of the what ifs in the emergency situations...?

Here's the truth. Birth is beautiful. It is sacred. It is made to be by an incredible Designer. Our Creator, the Lord.

How you do it, is totally up to you.

For the ones who truly desire a homebirth, you have my complete support. We have some incredible midwives who love coming alongside women in their homes to watch this miracle happen.

For the ones who desire a hospital birth, you also have my complete support. There are teams of Doctors and Nurses that I adore working with to help you bring your babe earthside safely.

Medicated or Unmedicated. That is up to you. There are few times that medication is necessary. However, I absolutely believe that women should have the freedom to choose. You are capable of whichever option you choose. Bonus: it is your choice. It is not wrong one way or another.

I have told all my clients this... "I know what birth preferences I have for me. But I will never force mine on you. This is about finding what birth preferences you have for you. I will back your preferences 100%"

Your birth. Your way. In this space here, you are FREE to choose. ♥️

I will always support you in that. ♥️

First time mom shares her experience... Thanks, Hannah Bennett ♥️

"This being my first pregnancy, my husband and I were considering the idea of having Lucinda doula for us because, while I have spent a ton of time researching birth and trying to prepare for it, I understood this was still my first time and there was so much Gary (my husband) and I did not know about the labor and deliver process and how to help things go as smoothly as possible. After hearing testimonies from a couple friends of ours who hired Lucinda as their doula, we decided to chat with her and from our first conversation about birth it was so apparent how much she loves what she does. Being her client, it was so encouraging knowing how much she loved walking with me through every step of the journey. Her being there to answer questions and prepare for my birth was super helpful.

My labor ended up being much longer than I anticipated, but Lucinda was with me for every single part of it. I have a tendency to want to see the entire picture and when contractions would come I would freak out thinking “I can’t do this anymore” or even question how much longer it was going to be. I wanted to know where the end was and reality is, nobody knows how long labor will take. Having Lucinda there helped keep me grounded and take each contraction and each step one at a time. She kept reminding me that the only big picture I needed to see was that it all was leading to me meeting my baby boy.

The way Lucinda supported me through my labor and delivery is something I will always be tremendously thankful for. Her wisdom in stretches and movements to encourage progression of labor and positioning of baby and her loving spirit that helped encourage me was incredible. One of my favorite things about her was how, even though she was there to help me mentally and physically get through it, she did so many things to show Gary how to be there through counter pressure, holding me, breathing with me, and so much more. She gave us our space when we needed it to just hold one another through parts of the labor as the two of us and it’s something I know grew us together as husband and wife in such a special way.

While my husband’s and my thought was to maybe just hire a doula for our first kid since we had never experienced labor and birth before, we would hire Lucinda in a heartbeat for every one of our children if able! There’s so much more I could say about what she did for us and how supportive she is and was, but that would take a whole book so this little bit will have to do. Words truly can’t express our gratefulness to the blessing that Lucinda was and is to our family!"
