Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Surgery was a success, mostly! Here's the details..

Simply: The aorta had to be corrected, and it was! Praise the Lord! If it was at all possible to correct the leaking valve, they were going to try. However, they found that the valve that needs some time to grow before they can correct that.

How you can pray:
The next few weeks are expected to have ups and downs. That is totally normal, but can be very stressful.

✨️Pray for Rowan as he goes through recovery. Pray that his heart rate will stabilize.
✨️Pray for Andrew and Saysha during these few weeks of recovery.
✨️Continue to pray that the Lord will provide for their physical, emotionally, mental, financial, and spiritual needs.

❤️Please remember they are going to have a hard time keeping up with people. Please give them lots of encouragement and grace.

Psalm 139:13-16
"For You created my innermost parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully formed in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my formless substance; and in Your book were written all the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them."

Lord Jesus, watch over sweet Rowan. Give the Doctors wisdom and intricate skill as they work on his little heart. Help us to trust You in the unknowns. You have known him and formed him. He's Yours, Lord, and we are grateful that You see the whole picture when we just see a sliver. God, You are so good. May Your perfect will be done.

Surgery starts at 7:30am.

Baby Rowan Update!!

Psalms 138:1-3
"I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul."

God is so SO good. This last week has been a whirlwind from a beautiful home birth, to a life altering diagnosis 3 days later. To God be the glory for the great things He has done in Rowan's precious life so far!

Rowan has the best team with 2 world class surgeons. We know God has a plan and a purpose. Here's a few Rowan wins....

✨️Rowan isn't needing oxygen currently!
✨️Rowan isn't needing supplemental food as he has been able to breastfeed. What a gift!

Prayer requests:
🙏Surgery will be Thursday morning at 7:30.The first surgery is to rework valves in his heart, to open up areas of the heart to create more blood flow, and then, if they decide, to address the leaky valve — although that’s not a normal part of the surgery itself. Pray for the surgery to be successful, and then for his recovery time.
🙏For Andrew and Saysha. Emotionally, Physically, Mentally, Financially, and Spiritually. So many details still need to take place.
🙏For housing in Denver as they won't be able to leave Denver until after his SECOND surgery somewhere between 4-6months.
🙏For God to receive all the glory and honor through Rowan's life and their time in Denver.

Thank YOU for supporting Saysha and Andrew in your prayers and financially!!

Psalm 31:19
“Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men!”

God knows. This last week has been a whirlwind. I attended a beautiful birth with the sweetest little family. When they had their follow up appt with the midwife, their sweet baby boy couldn’t keep his oxygen up to the appropriate levels. This granted an ER visit that turned into a stay at Children's Hospital. What started as "he needs a little oxygen" brought us the unexpected news that little man actually has a heart condition that was previously not caught. Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome: this will involve 3 different heart surgeries in his first 3 years of life.

Please be praying for Baby Rowan and his parents as this has rocked their world.

In the middle of this chaos, I have seen them continually give their boy over to the Lord, trusting in His perfect plan for his life. I asked them if I could share here so they have more prayer warriors coming alongside of them. ♥️

You are so loved, Rowan.

Today is a paperwork day. I am making birth plans for my next couple of deliveries, and then I was pulling completed contracts for this year, and putting in next years contracts. It's bittersweet pulling these contracts knowing my season with that family, for that birth is done. Goodness, I love watching these kiddos grow.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have had the privilege to serve your families.

Thank you. ♥️

September 30th.

ALL of my OCTOBER mamas have delivered their babies! Congratulations to these sweet families!!! There are some amazing stories of rising above the situations they were faced with, and making the BEST educated decisions in the situations they each had. Birth is not one size fits all ♥️

What a blessed month. This momma is ready to spend some sweet moments with my babies this week. Bonus: One of my kiddos has an Oct birthday and he is stoked that I will be home for it. ♥️

I'm super curious! Where are you following from? What makes you interested in a Doula, or are you just here for the beautiful birth stories? 🫶

Doula review! Goodness, I have the best clients! Thanks, Madie Snyder!! ♥️

We are beyond grateful for Lucinda! Even though I notified her later than planned and was progressing quickly through labor, she responded immediately and arrived at the hospital in no time. Her support during labor was absolutely invaluable. She created the exact environment we had hoped for — calm, confident, and even filled with laughter. It made all the difference. We highly recommend Lucinda to anyone looking for a caring, capable, and reassuring presence. Without a doubt, we’ll be reaching out to her again for our next baby!

The biggest question I have got asked is...

What is a doula???

That is such a valid question.

By definition a doula is "A non medical support, who is employed to provide guidance and support before, during, and after birth."

While that is nice and all, that doesn't really say what we do.

This doula believes that birth is a sacred time, to be protected and cherished. I believe that birth is not intended to just be a quick process but instead that it should be guided as your babe comes down.

I choose to focus my time on teaching you how to create space in your pelvis. I teach your support person how to help guide your baby down. During labor I teach you how to change position based on where your baby is sitting and what you are feeling. I help you create a birth plan and then I back up your decisions 1000%. (It doesn't matter if they are the ones I would choose - this is your birth. You get to choose.) I do a birthing class to help prepare you and your partner. I want your support person to feel equipped to help you. I don't just come in and take their place. We talk through benefits and risks of different choices before you get to birth so you aren't making fear or pain based decisions. I am there to hold your birth space, your way. ♥️

I meet with you twice before birth, I stay there for the duration of labor and delivery, and then I am there until baby latches the first time unless we have made previous arrangements. I then do a 24-48 hr follow up to check on you. Going into the birth, I plan on knowing your preferences inside and out. I am your advocate.

It's not very often that Dad's write a review, so here it is from a Dad's perspective..

"Lucinda did not ask us to write anything, but I just felt compelled to because of how amazing our experience was. Let me backup a little and say, with our first 2 kids, without a doula present, the deliveries went fairly well overall. But this time, Kelsey has been praying for an all-natural birth for months. It has been a really big deal to her, and she’s been studying for it and preparing for it. But, we knew that if we wanted to be successful with the all-natural birth Kelsey desired, our best bet was to have a doula helping us. I’m a paramedic and have a decent grasp on the body as a whole and have even delivered a few babies myself, but labor and delivery is FAR from my specialty. I knew that I did not have even close to the knowledge and experience needed to give Kelsey the help she would need come delivery time. So we talked with Lucinda and were stoked when she was able to be our doula. And let me just say, though the first 2 births went alright, the difference was truly unbelievable. This birth was everything that Kelsey had been hoping and praying for! It went so amazing in every way! Kels was incredible and obviously did all the heavy lifting that night/day, but Lucinda’s help and knowledge and advice were absolutely invaluable! She was able to help get the baby in the right position, gave us exercises to do to try and get labor moving along naturally, helped be an advocate with a doctor who was a little more pushy than Kelsey wanted, and was just a huge encouragement and blessing for both Kelsey and I. She also took some candid pictures of us that are extremely special to both Kelsey and I! I do want to give a quick shoutout to the amazing staff at the hospital that we had. Aside from the 1 doctor who was a little pushy that we had very briefly, all of the nurses and doctors we had were so patient and kind and wanted the birth to be what Kelsey wanted it to be- especially Doctor Woodward! I know this isn’t about them, it’s about Lucinda, but I wanted to give them a shoutout as well! But all of that rambling to say, Lucinda was SUCH a blessing to our little family, and we’re thankful to the Lord that we were able to have the birth Kels has been praying for. We know that the Lord used Lucinda to help accomplish that. And now we get to spend time holding our precious little girl. If you are reading this and are in need of an amazing doula, PLEASE reach out to Lucinda. She was amazing in every way! We were so blessed to have her with us."
