What Role Does Food Play in Strength Training? To make the most gains in muscle mass and strength you need:

Enough calories total, each day...
And adequate protein to actually rebuild more muscle tissue.

If you eat a lot of protein but not enough overall calories, you’ll struggle to be able to workout to build more muscle.

If you eat enough calories but too much junk and not enough protein, your body won’t be able to build up muscle tissue and will gain fat instead.

Food matters! This 4th of July, prepare healthy and tasty food that will fuel your body and support your strength! Try this stacked avocado and chicken sandwich. It’s quick, mess-free to make and super convenient to pack for any destination. Enjoy!
2 slices of whole grain bread (fiber!)
Spread 1/2 mashed avocado on one slide (healthy fats!)
Top with 1/2 sliced cucumber (crunch!)
Add slices of chicken breast (protein!)
