Chloe's story: I was wondering the streets of Phoenix without knowing where to go, until an officer from Animal Control found me and took me to the shelter. There were a lot of big dogs that barked all the time, and I couldn't get any sleep. I felt lonely and afraid. Sometimes a volunteer would come by and try to take me out for a walk and I wanted to go, but I couldn't help to be fearful and hide. I would find the furthest corner of my kennel and curl up in a ball, shaking. I know volunteers and staff were just being nice to me, but I was too scared to come out and meet them. I started getting depressed and stopped eating. I got so skinny you could see my spine. I also got a bad cold and started coughing a lot. You could see my rib cage shaking when I coughed :(
One day, a woman came to visit me. I ran away from her to the corner, but she sat outside of my kennel and waited. And waited. Finally, I had to go smell her and see what she was about. She opened the door and pet me. It felt good! I wagged my tail and let her take me out. She took me to her house to foster me! Once I got to her house, I begun feeling better right away! She gave me medicine covered in peanut butter so I liked eating it. I also met other happy dogs at her house and I liked playing with them. I even made friends with a little girl who is always giving me treats and petting me! My favorite thing is to cuddle with people on the couch and going for walks around the neighborhood. I'm small so I don't need a lot of exercise, but I enjoy being with people at all times :)
I know how to use a doggie and I almost never go potty in the house. I am healthy and ready to find my forever home now. I'm already spayed and up to date with all my shots. Wanna meet me? Contact my foster parents at adoptabledog@gmail.com. See you soon!
