I thought “tween” meant 11-12 years old. I am not quite ready for that stage! Love this family time (with a little work sprinkled in).

The people that told me I couldn’t motivated me more than my cheering section. Don’t let the naysayers hold you back.

People frequently come to me desiring improvement for their surface wrinkling and pigmentation issues. There is no better treatment for either of those concerns than Erbium Laser Resurfacing. This 75 year-old patient is only four weeks out from her procedure, and you can already see she has literally reversed the signs of sun damage to reveal beautiful radiant skin underneath! Correcting jowling and neckline laxity is important (and she had that previously), but I always tell people, don’t forget to treat the wrapping paper!

I am lucky to have accellular dermal matrices (ADMs) like to help me with challenging breast cases like this trim 30 year-old mom of two children. Her tissues were exceedingly thin due to saline implants placed when she was 23, and she had severe capsular contracture (scar tissue) around her implants. ADM's help prevent recurrent scar tissue, decrease visible rippling and provide thicker tissue to help reconstruct the pockets for the new implants. She had a lift as well. She now has soft better shaped breasts that are much more proportionate!

I saw this comment on one of my posts recently. It made my day! I know I have said it before, but it is truly so gratifying to help people feel more comfortable in their bodies.

Mommy makeover time! This lovely and very kind mother of four came to see me to discuss the extra “cushion” she had following her last pregnancy. At 5’4 and 115 lbs, she had recaptured her pre-pregnancy weight, but her skin had not responded. She also felt her breasts didn’t have the volume and upper pole fullness they had once had. I performed a with liposuction of her flanks and a modest breast augmentation to help her achieve her goals. She is thrilled, and I truly am SO happy for her!

Mia, born and raised in Arizona, is currently a sophomore studying Kinesiology at ASU, with plans to become either a physical therapist or Physician’s assistant. It was such a pleasure to meet a bright driven young woman who will definitely leave a positive mark in whatever field she desires. Congratulations again Mia!

I have a long history of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day because I was always told I was Irish. Then came 23 and me. Turns out I am 80% Italian!

The first time I was recognized as a Top Doc was my first year in practice in 1996. Back then I thought I was well-trained and a good surgeon. Twenty-five years later I can tell you this award means even more, because now I realize how many people helped me get here. In gratitude, thank you.

The 2020 Dr. Patti Flint Women in Science Scholarship winner has continued to excel at ASU. (No surprise!) She is entering her senior year and will soon be applying to Doctoral Audiology programs. Way to go Kaiah!

Loyal patients I have worked with for years bring me great joy. This wonderful lady is aging in reverse! Her ablative Erbium laser treatment worked wonders on her wrinkles around her mouth. This lovely patient came to see me as she felt fillers were no longer making her look youthful. Instead she felt she was being overfilled by someone else, and they were making her face appear wider than it naturally is. I suggested and performed a to put the deeper tissues back to where they used to be. Her post photos were taken four months following her surgery.

I am proud and happy to report that all forty-five of my employees are vaccinated against Covid. I have always put my commitment to patient safety first and will never step away from that regardless of how unpopular my decisions may be. Regrettably the 6% of employees who opted out of vaccination or regular testing all did so without notice. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes my patients. We are in unchartered times and while I deeply respect freedom of choice, I took an oath to first do no harm. I hope we all move forward in the spirit of the greater good.

Forge your own path and don’t focus on the noise. (Believe me when I say there will be a lot!) Trust yourself and always move forward with confidence. It will not be comfortable…a lot of the time, but it will be worth it.

Subtle re-shaping and down-sizing can make such a beautiful difference for patients. You don’t have to look like a completely different person to have a nose that suits you better. This patient’s post photos were taken one year following her surgery.

My mom told me today she never had a birthday party when she was a kid. Well, no time like the present! Happy 90th Mom! You really are THE best, and all the encouragement you gave me through all the years of school and training got me through. You never complain and you are always positive. We love you! 🎁 🥳 🎂

…and that’s a wrap on summer. I am always a little sad to leave my California home state at this time of year, but I am looking forward to all things cooler in AZ soon! Hope your summer was fabulous.

After almost a year and a half without a real vacation I am taking a summer break. Less work. Less social media. More family time. Have a fun, safe and relaxing summer. We’ll catch up in the Fall.

I couldn’t ask for more thoughtful gifts from my two favorite little girls on Mother’s Day. They also provided me with a snack. Who doesn’t want keto cheese puffs at 6 AM? Happy Mother’s Day to all those hard working moms out there!

... and surprise! This is her sister who also opted for a nose tune-up. Nothing like a joint Netflix binge while recovering. Two beauties for certain! I am grateful that they selected me as their surgeon. ✨

So happy to be celebrating a five year work anniversary with my patient care coordinator Kristy. Loyalty is a quality I hold in very high esteem and it has become so very rare. I am very lucky to have such a diligent, motivated and caring woman on my team. She's a keeper. Thank you Kristy! (And I am so envious of her height!)

I received THE BEST email this weekend. A wonderful patient shared with me that she had never loved her wedding day photos. For their tenth wedding anniversary they decided to retake them. In her words...

“I sent you pics from now (they were NOT altered at all) and the pics from exactly 10yrs ago. I didn’t realize how much you guys have helped me. I’ve always had a very low self esteem and I hate looking at pictures of me.  So, long story short THANK YOU!!!  Here’s proof that Dr. Flint can work miracles, and my skincare products you have me setup on are little miracles in bottles. 💜 Thank you guys for everything you have done for me and thank you guys for helping to make a pic of me that I don’t mind looking at. 💜”

I recently saw this wonderful young patient at her three week post operative appointment. I have always loved doing rhinoplasties, but when I was visiting with her it reminded me exactly why I do what I do. Her energy and confidence were completely different. I look forward to seeing continued improvements in her result as the swelling subsides!

Introducing Emma Williams, my sixth annual, 2021 Dr. Patti Flint Women in Science Scholarship winner! It gives me great hope for our future when I meet young women like Emma. She is focused on her goal to become a heart surgeon and is very intentional in her pursuit. Emma shared with me a favorite quote of hers in her essay application, and I love it. “It's not so much how busy you are, but why you are busy. The bee is praised. The mosquito is swatted.” Keep up the good work Emma. We will be cheering you on!

Contrary to popular belief, mommy makeovers can be done on moms of all ages. This great 59 year-old Mom of two, finally found a window of time where she could do something for herself! She had a tummy tuck with liposuction of her flanks (muffin top) along with a breast augmentation with a lift. Her post photos were taken six months following her procedure. She looks fabulous and I couldn’t be happier for her!

When I opened my solo private practice in 1997, I had already been through eleven years of education and training after college. I thought I knew what I was doing, and I did. But the benefits of an additional twenty-four years of hands on experience are immeasurable. I am so grateful to continue to learn everyday. (And how about that hairdo?!)

It seems like most I do these days are revisionary in one way or another. Getting it right the first time is always best, but if your result is not all that you hoped, seek a very experienced facelift surgeon as improvements can be made!
