Winter reminder: While snow is falling, roads will not be bare.

We have crews treating roadways around the clock during winter storms, but with the distance our plows cover our aim is to keep roads passable rather than completely free of ice and snow. We continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.

Please avoid unnecessary travel during inclement weather. Pack an emergency travel kit and check 511PA for updates if you must be out on the roads.

All non-essential Lackawanna County buildings will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All county and court offices are closed on Monday for non-essential employees only.
