The past few months have been full of big changes and struggles for me...

I've had to say goodbye to many things in my life as I have stepped into a chapter of deep inner transformation.

But out of this pain and loss has also come profound healing and growth.

Sometimes, we have to say goodbye in order to welcome something even better into our lives.

Endings can be painful, but they are so necessary.

Due to the intensity of the past few months in my personal and professional life, I have had to take a few steps back in my business in order to center my own self-care. (Even therapists need support sometimes!)

This upcoming year I will be focusing my energy on completing my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and working with both survivors of domestic violence and perpetrators of abuse in intervention treatment programs. The opportunity to work on all sides of the spectrum of intimate partner violence is one of the greatest challenges I have had to face in my career so far.

Despite my hesitations and nervousness at the intensity of this work, I feel guided by a higher power to take on this mission.

As a therapist, I have learned to see the great wisdom and healing in walking into the darkness with my clients. It is an honor to stand with people amid their greatest pain without pushing it away. To give people permission to feel the tidal waves of emotion and to let it run its course so that we can get to the other side.

Through this intense healing work, I have decided to let my business go into a state of hibernation. Even though I may not be as active in my marketing efforts, know that I am still here doing this powerful work!

I will still accept a limited number of clients in my private practice at Surya Bella Wellness, but I will primarily focus this next year on working on the ground in domestic violence shelters in Seattle.

Sometimes we have to slow down in one area of our lives in order to invest more deeply in another. Thank you for following along on this journey, and know that even though I may be more quiet on my business page, I will be back soon with even more to offer. ❤️

Stay tuned for more updates to come...

A Journey Within

Hi! My name is Isabella and I am a writer, yoga teacher, and the founder of Surya Bella. I assist others in finding their voice and connecting with their true selves through yoga, meditation, and the power of the written word.

I know firsthand how unsettling it is to feel disconnected from your true self and to feel the need to hide your thoughts and feelings. When I was younger, I didn’t feel very connected to my body or soul. I spent most of my time partying and studying, engaged in mind-numbing activities. But when I was 18 years old, I went through a transformative experience during a trip to Israel and decided to leave my university studies behind in pursuit of a simpler and more meaningful existence.

My travels took me around the world, backpacking through Israel and Europe, until I ended up in a yoga teacher training program in Rishikesh, India. My time in Rishikesh was tumultuous, filled with difficulties and tough lessons along the way. But through all the darkness, I also found a connection with God and with myself. I slowly cultivated a connection with my body, listening to my voice, and honoring the inner being that had been buried within me for so long.

In a very real way, yoga saved my life. It rescued me from the depths of addiction and self-destruction, but I still experience struggles on my journey every day. Yoga has given my life meaning and has put me on a path where I finally feel like myself, but I know that my road has a long way to go before I reach “the end” (if that even exists).
