M O R E self love.➕L E S S negativity.➖
⠀⠀
How can you change the conversation about yourself to yourself?! How can you look at a photo of your body and learn to love every inch vs. find your flaws immediately?!🤷🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀
The answer is actually so S I M P L E. Change your perspective + the conversation.🔍What does your body do for you every single day so you can live? What are you talented at? What are your strengths? What are you grateful for?💭
⠀⠀
When I started having that conversation with myself, I was able to learn to love every single piece of M E.🧩
⠀⠀
So tell me below what you L O V E about your body & what does your body allow you to do daily that you’re most grateful for? We are all worthy and capable of L O V I N G ourselves. So why wait?! Start now.❤️

Physically, mentally & emotionally drained⌛️

This has been my reality the past few weeks. I’ve been so caught up taking care of everyone else that I forgot to take care of myself, until it’s too late. I have made it my mission to work as hard as I can to exceed the expectations of those around me while ticking off all the boxes. Pretending to have everything together every second of the day when that’s far from the truth is exhausting. I’m exhausted😩

Nearing my breaking point, I asked my sister for help. I want you to understand that when I ask for help, it’s not that I am being lazy. But rather, I am simply drowning. Bella saw me struggling and didn’t hesitate to lend an extra hand around the house🧺, bring me a snack while I’m at the studio🍎, or sending a quick text to check in on me

She’s helped me take a step back and realize I need to prioritize work life balance which takes self-awareness and discipline. As someone who is a recovering over-achiever and perfectionist, this is hard for me (hence, learning it the hard way yet again). My natural tendency with any job is put my job above anything else. What’s the problem, you may ask? I neglected my own well-being by skimping on sleep💤, not fueling my body properly to function🍽 and failing to partake in activities with people that bring me joy💕

Don’t let work or your “to-do” list define your happiness. You work to live, NOT live to work. Work on what makes you the best version of yourself & strive for balance.⚖️

This past spring, I interned with Vivecorp in Starbuck’s Headquarters Java Gym ☕️to learn more about what goes into designing, developing, implementing and managing various aspects of a successful corporate wellness program for a large company.
⠀⠀
Since employees in the contemporary work environment spend the majority of their day sitting at a desk👩🏻‍💻, the obesity rate in the workplace is on the rise. Many chronic diseases are preventable and incorporating a wellness program can educate employees on the importance of creating healthy habits and give them the resources to help them stick to their wellness goals. Corporate wellness programs are beneficial to the workplace as it increases productivity while decreasing healthcare costs💰, absenteeism🤒, and stress.

I chose to make the switch from working with collegiate athletes🏋🏻‍♂️to working with the general population 🚶🏻‍♀️to inspire healthy living. Whether someone is just starting their exercise journey, or it has been a huge part of their life, my goal is to help people learn to appreciate the unexpected ways that working out can benefit mental health🧠, improve self-confidence 🙋🏻‍♀️and lead to a healthier and happier life overall.
⠀⠀
I am thankful that I have taken the last few months to reflect on what I really what to do and have had the opportunity to network👥 with people in the industry to determine the next steps I should take to pursue a career in corporate wellness. Everyday I work towards achieving my goal of helping people live out a health lifestyle & cant wait to see where journey takes me!💪🏼

Amazon Team bonding in the HOUSE yesterday!📦

I taught my first Launch class to an Amazon Team in preparation for Row House West Seattle’s Soft Open next week (go BIG or go home, right?!?). I was a nervous train wreck leading up to the class and was second guessing my ability to be a great coach. But with the help of an supportive crew👥, some pump up music🎵, a lil self-pep talk💭 and way more iced coffee than one should consume in a day☕️, I ROCKED my class!🤟🏻I brought the energy⚡️and left the team feeling STRONG, INSPIRED, MOTIVATED & CHALLENGED💪🏼 This team put in hard work during that 60-minute class and they showed the importance of rowing together. We are one boat. One team. One house. We’re all in it together.🚣🏻‍♀️

Started my week with a yoga class. To me, yoga is much more than a form of exercise. The more I make it to my mat, the more I learn about life and how to handle its many curve balls🧘🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀
1. BE PRESENT. Yoga class is literally an hour of sitting in a quiet room, surrounded by nothing other than your breath and the energy of those around you. No technology, no distractions. I’ve taken this into my life reminding myself to put down my phone whenever I can, and really be in the present moment.📵

2. BREATHE. When all else fails, breathe through the moment. Just as those deep inhales and long exhales can help you through poses, they can help you whenever it feels noisy, crowded, or difficult to conquer.🌬
⠀⠀
3. SELF-LOVE. Dedicating an hour just for yourself is not selfish. Self-love is ongoing and often a challenging journey. Once you realize material things will not lead to happiness, you can find the strength to look within yourself and find your own peace.💕
⠀⠀
4. PATIENCE IS KEY. Trying to force yourself into a pose you aren’t ready for will often lead to injuries, frustration, and of course, pain. Yoga slowly taught me to be patient when it comes to tackling challenges. Inhale and exhale – good things come to those who wait.⏰
⠀⠀
5. IT’S OKAY TO FAIL. Without failure, how would you ever be able to know what you’re truly capable of? Try new things in life and allow yourself to fail – then get back up and try again.👌🏼
⠀⠀
6. CONSISTENCY. Start small and add a little more each day or each week. The steady flow you developed on the mat will spill over into the way you structure your life and the energy you carry with you day-to-day.⚡️
⠀⠀
7. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Yoga taught me to tune into my body’s gentle requests and really listen to these cues. If my body asks for rest, I will honor its needs.💤
⠀⠀
8. LIFE IS ASYMMETRICAL. Honor that each side of your body is different. Your body is, and will never be, completely symmetrical – and neither will your life. Appreciate the beauty in imperfection and the playful challenge that imbalance brings.

Cheers to 23 laps around the sun & here’s to 22 – the year I found myself, the year I allowed myself to rediscover who I am💕

I took risks & made decisions to move on and let go from what wasn’t serving me. I allowed myself time to change & to figure it all out while remaining patient.

I learned how to actually listen to my heart, put my passions first, and in-turn feel more love, joy and fulfillment than ever before.

Most of my life I had my path planned for me. I had been told what, where and how I should do things; I released that. It was NOT easy but so worth it. I was questioned about my decisions from others and experienced lots of internal back and forth as to what I “should” be doing with my life.

So much has happened in the past 365 days. 23 will be the year I LIVE my truth. 23, I’m ready for you.👊🏻
