Join Dr. Anup to experience therapeutic breathwork class… we will be doing Ayurvedic Pranayama.

Ayurvedic Pranayama practices are unique in their application and distinct from Yogic pranayama. They are designed to be therapeutic for the nervous system. Practices are applied to help restructure the nervous system, provide relief from trauma-adaptations, and give psycho-somatic soothing. With practice, individuals become less anxious, irritable, and experience enhanced mood. Beyond this, daily routine based on these practices is designed as a symbolic prostration of our mind to our Divine Soul. Spiritual development is facilitated through innate and spontaneous spiritual experiences.

Anxiety, anger, depression is also an language of the soul, I wanna mention that in a little bit of Ayurvedic perspective. So life is this interaction of the soul through the personality, right? And the spirit is like your sensor for how reality is going for you, and when your spirit is joyful.

When it is inspired, when it is excited, when it's lifted. That is feedback to you. You are on the right path. You're doing the right thing. The soul is affirming. The soul is behind you. The soul is feeling more present and embodied and really infused with the personality as the personality is more absorbed in the soul.

But when you're not in the right place, maybe you wanna say something and you are too afraid to say it, and so you feel anxious and uncomfortable and you feel sad and helpless and hopeless, right? That is also your spirit saying to you, my spirit feels down. My spirit feels broken.

My spirit, spirit feels lost. My spirit feels anxious. And so the spirit is giving that feedback of like how you're out of resonance with the soul's intention, soul's path basically. And so really it brings me to another point of self-awareness.

Consider a medicine that has intention to support your healing, empower you to lead yourself, and enable you to manifest your Spiritual aim...

That is the key of Ayurvedic psychology and Ayurvedic medicine because ultimately it is to serve the soul. I want to heal your pain. I want to heal your heart. I wanna balance your blood sugar. I want to take away your headaches, all these things so that you can listen deeply into your heart what you want to do.

Yeah, and you have the capacity, mental, emotional, physical, to follow through on your deepest desire and enjoy the process. Creating the life you want, as well as enjoy the fruit of your effort. That is Ayurveda so beautiful.

Disrupt emotional depletion from Shame!

If you have grown up with criticism, feeling embarrassed or shamed, we often feel depleted and deflated when we let people down or as if we're failing in some way. When we feel this way, it is hard to do much, hard to move, hard to express ourselves.

Here's an exercise to release this feeling.

First, begin with falling forward, letting your body hang down like a rag doll, and exhale, embodying that depleted and defeated feeling.

And then slowly breathe, filling your body with breath and energy. Lifting up.

And then let yourself go. Haaaaa.... Exhale!

Inhale, lift yourself up with breath and energy.

And exhale, haaaaaa.... let yourself go.

Lift up again, filling with breath and energy.

Repeat this practice six to nine times until you feel more strength and energy in your back and feel better.

Namaste!

How to disrupt the emotional trigger associated with shame?

When we feel shame, our nervous system responds with trauma, a fight or flight response that causes us to either dissociate and emotionally shut down or dissociate and become angry or enraged. In this way, we become either harmful to ourselves or harmful to those around us.

When you feel this, try this practice to disrupt the emotional trigger.

Begin with tapping at the center of your chest over the sternum, this bone. Feel your fingers, tap like a drum and take deep breaths.

When you can feel yourself taking deeper and deeper breath and relaxing, you're ready for the next step.

Say I love you as you inhale,

and thank you as you exhale.

I love you... inhale

Thank you... exhale

I love you... inhale

Thank you... exhale

Repeat this practice six to nine times and feel better. Namaste!

Qi Gong: Bridge to Soul Embodiment.............................

Our breath prana is the vital force that creates a bridge between the ego and our inner being the soul. Here's a practice to build this bridge of soul embodiment. Imagine your thousand petal crown as the thousand green leaves receiving the light of the soul, your spine as the trunk embodying and absorbing this light and spreading it throughout you and your feet as the roots grounding this light into the earth.

With your palms facing up.

Inhale receiving the light from the crown to your sacred.

Palms turn downward. Exhale with this light grounding through your feet into the earth.

Palms up inhale receiving.

Palms down, exhale, radiating.

Repeat this, practice 12 to 18 times and enjoy your embodiment. Namaste!
