I'm here, pals.

Just letting you know that I'm hanging around, listening, trying to lean into this continued chaos and not get too lost.

I decided to scratch my spring Whole30 and support group. I apologize if that's disappointing. I just felt like the right call for right now (more on that later)

I'll return to more posting soon, but for now - I'm diving head first into this gorgeous cup of coffee and snuggling up in my favorite sweatshirt 😊

Home alone tonight for the first time in over a year... so what do I do?
MAKE A BUDDHA BOWL!

Cooking for 1️⃣ means I don't have to work around everyone else's tastebuds

I get to revisit one of my tried-and-true dinner ideas without combing through recipe sites or cookbooks

Buddha Bowls are quick, easy and endlessly customizable.

If you want to try one for yourself, start with this template:

1 part Whole Grain (quinoa, organic rice, buckwheat groats, or farro)

1 part Leafy Greens (baby spinach, arugula, kale or chard)

2-3 parts Roasted Veg (Brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potato or beets)

1 part Dressing (vinaigrette, drizzled tahini, balsamic reduction or hummus)

Plus any bonus toppings, seasonings, or foods taking up space in your fridge!

Eating more than that was not associated with additional benefits, said the study condudcted by the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and released by the American Heath Association.

Sometimes I forget that I'm 35.

A large part of me still identifies as the 25 year old bartender.
Or the 17 year old volleyball player.

It's tough to accept that my biological age is still advancing. That my body is adapting to changes in my metabolism, muscle distribution, sleep cycle, etc.

At least it's tough *mentally*
Pretty sure my body is all: "pfffft, please, honey. I know damn well that we're 35." 🙄

In today's newsletter, I shared some of my thoughts on pandemic fatigue.

It's a powerful example of how many unseen factors contribute to our sense of well-being.

Our physical health is intimately linked to our emotional health which is directly tied to our environment and so on.

This is true whether in a global pademic or not (but it sure is evident now).

If you're feeling empty or tired or uninspired lately - give yourself some space.

You are a whole being who is adapting. ✨
