Help Tiffany, Ernie, and their whole family!
The Collins family has been through the wringer. Tiffany first had stage 3 breast cancer in late 2015, when the twins were 8 months old and Kaeden was 4. This led to aggressive treatment including a double mastectomy, radiation, chemotherapy, and finally… remission.
Unfortunately, it didn’t last.
In early 2021, Tiffany was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction that turned out to be stage 4 breast cancer. This meant she would be in treatment for the rest of her life. After trying a new chemo drug that lasted less than a year and immunotherapy which kept the cancer at bay for another year, she developed an aggressive type of cancer called leptomeningeal disease – meaning the cancer was now in her brain and spinal fluid. After ten rounds of Proton Therapy, she started a new cutting-edge chemotherapy drug, Enhertu, which she has infused every three weeks. She gets scans every three months to ensure it's working. Enhertu is one of the final options available for this type of cancer and as of now recent scans show no signs of cancer, it’s as close to remission as one can get at stage 4. It really is just in hiding though, and now the family is facing the future together for as long as they are able.
To add to this ordeal, Ernie was laid off from Amazon in January 2023, all while putting in an incredible effort to support Tiffany, as well as a bright middle schooler, and vivacious 9-year-old twins.
With this change in Tiffany’s cancer, now is the time for our community to come together to support their family, so they can focus on each other. We want to be here for the whole Collins family: Tiffany, Ernie, Kaeden, Callum, and Zealand…
