If you talked to your best friend the way your inner critic talks to you, you’d have zero friends and maybe a restraining order 😬

We’ve spent so much time listening to that critical voice that we’ve started to accept these criticisms as facts.

My take as a therapist? Your inner critic needs to be fired ASAP.

It promised that shame would make you better, and now all you’ve got to show for it is stress, anxiety, and binge eating.

Healing your relationship with food and your body starts with silencing that inner critic and learning to trust yourself.

I am currently accepting new clients for therapy and coaching that are ready to stop the shame cycle for good

Which of these lies is the loudest for you today? Tell me in the comments below 👇

As someone who grew up in the South, I know that it’s a special kind of awful to wear long pants in July. 🥵

I also know that for lots of women, the alternative is showing their legs in shorts, and that feels even worse.

My clients often have lots of rules for how they dress- no showing arms, no shorts, no swimsuits…. Lots of “no”, all because they are afraid of how their bodies will be seen by others.

But what would it be like if this summer was a “yes”?

Imagine wearing shorts to the 4th of July bbq, with zero anxiety about what your thighs look like.

When my clients tell me they wore shorts (or a sleeveless top, or a swimsuit) for the first time and didn’t feel anxious, I feel like the work I do is a tiny bit magical, because I get to help them overcome these fears that have been there for YEARS.

I won’t try sugarcoat it and tell you that coming into sessions will magically fix how you see your body. My clients who make this change do lots of heavy lifting and implement the changes we discuss, and are committed to trying something new, even if it feels uncomfortable at first.

But the payoff of staying as cool as possible during the summers? That is worth it.

I am currently accepting new clients for therapy and coaching, so check my link in bio to schedule a consultation (or DM me!) so we can talk about your goals for the summer!

This is fo you if your day can be ruined by the number on the scale.

These are the three things I like to remind my clients of when they are experiencing high anxiety about their weight.

Let me know in the comments if this was helpful!

Look this quote is sooo problematic but there’s a part of you that thinks it’s a little, tiny bit correct… right?

I mean, definitely disregard the fact that this doesn’t take into account that red velvet cupcakes exist (with cream cheese frosting, the way God intended).

When you’ve spent years or even decades feeling self-conscious about your body, the idea of being “skinny” feels like such a relief that you’d even give up the red velvet cupcakes 😭

But here’s the catch (because there usually is one):

Being in a smaller body won’t fix your relationship with food. It won’t improve your relationships, and I’m gonna bet your anxiety about your body doesn’t go away.

You can feel good in the body you have right now. You can fix your relationship with food and your body, with your partner, and watch the anxiety go way down.

There is a middle ground where you can have the treats and still feel good about yourself. You can feel confident and cute in the body you have right now.

You can even do all of this while that tiny part of you believes that being smaller will fix things.

I work with clients every day on un-learning the f*cked up things diet culture taught us, and I am currently accepting new clients for therapy and coaching. DM me the word CUPCAKE if you want to chat more about options for working together.

Ok bye I’m off to get a red velvet cupcake. 🤤

A little Saturday story time that sums up my feelings on work-life balance.

Tl;dr (does anyone say that anymore? I don’t even know): I left a job with the fancy title and salary because I’m not cut out to be corporate middle management.

I even throw in some mildly hot takes (like Taco Bell mild, not ghost peppers lol) and give you some free advice at the end.

Also, pretty please, tell me if you’ve ever been in a job that takes over everything in your life in the comments, and tell me what you did about it. I wanna know because honestly I’m a little nosy like that 😜

Today I’m giving my take on whether GLP-1s are addictive.

Quick answer? No.

Long answer? If you have a history of disordered eating or an ED, it can put you at a risk for relapse and it might feel like you can’t stop.

If you’ve taken a GLP-1, did you find it hard to stop?? Let me know in the comments!

Just a few reminders for you in case you need them.
