Tether Perinatal Mental Health Therapy

Tether Perinatal Mental Health Therapy Perinatal mental health is complex. You are not alone - we are here to help.

Tether is built on a simple belief: inclusive perinatal mental health care works best when responsibility is shared, and emotional and mental labor aren’t carried by one person.

I’m excited to share that I’m leading a team at UW, exploring a different way of thinking about perinatal mental health—one that looks less at individuals in isolation and more about how care is structured, shared, and sustained across relationships and support networks.

Accordingly, I am humbly asking for your input. If you are currently pregnant and/or postpartum up to two years and are open to sharing your experiences with either/both, I’d be deeply grateful if you’d consider completing this brief, anonymous survey.

Every response has real impact. Insights from this survey directly inform how we’re developing immediately applicable and concrete tools that are grounded in lived experience—that are genuinely useful in the moments they’re needed most. Link in bio and in my stories!

Thank you to anyone willing to share, and to those doing the often unseen work of supporting early parenthood.

I'm often asked, "What is perinatal therapy?" Well, having a baby is unlike any other experience in a human lifetime. That’s why I believe that perinatal mental health demands its own specialized care. Whether you’re planning a family, pregnant, postpartum, or a new parent, this practice is built specifically for you.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms in isolation, I look at the whole ecosystem that encompasses you: your relationships, support networks, emotional and mental labor, and the realities of caregiving. Therapy invites your story and context into the room - the *you* beyond your current circumstances. While the main/initial focus may be perinatal concerns, I place a high value on helping create a space to see you in 3D, not just in 2D.

If you have questions about Tether, about me, or are wondering if Tether might be a good fit for you, please feel free to reach out. I'm able to reply to messages within 24 hours, at most.

Tether Perinatal Mental Health Therapy (Tether, for short) is here! "Perinatal" refers to the full stretch of time when someone is preparing for a baby, carrying a baby, and/or adjusting to life after birth. Perinatal experiences include difficulties conceiving, unexpected/unwanted pregnancies, expected/wanted pregnancies, pregnancy loss, infertility, and everything in between.

At Tether, we believe that perinatal mental health deserves more than crisis care, quick "fixes," and "hang in there"s. You deserve time, nuanced, specialized treatment, and support that extends beyond you - the person carrying it all.

We are building a new model of care—one that centers the birthing person and activates the people around them. We offer individual therapy, as well as guided coaching sessions for birthing individuals and up to two of their support people. We are providing care that that reflects real life. This work exists because the perinatal period is complex, vulnerable, and often invisible; no one should navigate it alone and untethered.

Tether Therapy is opening an early access, first-come, first-served list now. All folks on this list will be among the first to receive details about scheduling, therapy itself, and practice updates as we go, but we do have a somewhat limited number of spots for clients.

We have exciting updates and news to share in mid-late Spring, so stay tuned and spread the word!

Remember: Care works best when it’s shared. Reach out starting today. ✨ info@tetherperinatal.com, https://tetherperinatal.com
