RITA VAN PARYS, Clinical Aromatherapist, Pharmacist & author, shares her expert knowledge & experience from the Netherlands.

Rita qualified as a pharmacist with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Univ. of Ghent in Belgium, and has worked as a Pharmacist in Belgium and the UK. In 2009 Rita undertook training with the College International Aromatherapie Dominique Baudoux, and later joined its associated company, Pranarôm, where she instructed healthcare professionals in Scientific Aromatherapy.

Rita completed further training in Clinical Aromatherapy with the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine & Aromatherapy in London, in 2013, and in organic skin care formulation with Formula Botanica, in 2017. She continues to teach and share her knowledge of Scientific Aromatherapy.

Ons Sunday I was joined by my Co-Director at the Actaea Institute of Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, AC Hill, and the fabulous folk who joined us for the start of our 10-month live & lively Diploma course in the clinical practice and business of Herbalism & Aromatherapy.

The course is quite intensive — we will be covering some 200 medicinal and aromatic plants and their clinical use guided by traditional wisdom, botanical science and TCM energetic diagnostic skills. Not only that, but we will be learning how to sustainably wildcraft and grow, harvest and process, extract and distill these precious plant medicinals from the ground up.

So it's a "jolly-good-thing" that those who were drawn to and who joined our band of herbal learners are a spectacular assortment of Herbalists, Aromatherapists, Therapeutic Massage practitioners, artists, painters, sculptors, potters, gardeners, plant ID-ers, entrepreneurs, community builders, travelers, and devotees of Plant Spirit Wisdom.
