aging is not the management of gradual decline…

aging is a celebration of life…

& there’s no better way to celebrate than movement.

i tell my morning crew all the time that we should show gratitude with each workout.

we get to move our bodies… not everyone gets that opportunity.

even when we don’t feel strong, we are reminded to take a glimpse back to see how far we have come.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Soul F**t 5K.

As you are filling up the remainder of your race calendar, be sure to include the Soul F**t 5K to it!

Register today through July 19th to ensure you get your race t-shirt included in your ticket for only $35!!

What we are offering this 5k:

1. Our 2024 course is the Silver Creek Cross Country course. Your course will take you on a 3.1 mile hilly course.
2. All runners will receive a race day t-shirt as long as you register before July 19th.
3. There will be an after party! There will be booths that will offer you hydration, energy teas, and post run treats. (Available for purchase.)
4. Virtual option is available for anyone who would like to either run closer to home or is you live out of state.

but how do you know if the way you're living is actually making you feel good about yourself & your life?

the answer is... finding your why...

what motivates YOU to be healthy?
why do YOU show up?
why do YOU want to get into shape?

listen up...

strength training is an essential to any fitness routine, regardless of age ladies....

to help you get the most out of your strength training routine, here are my three tips to keep in mind:

prioritize compound exercises: compound exercises, what are those you ask??? these are exercises that work multiple muscle groups simultaneously....such as squats, deadlifts, & bench presses. these exercises are highly effective for building strength. making them an excellent choice for women in their 40s who want to maintain a healthy weight & build muscle mass.

don't forget cardio: while strength training is essential, it's also crucial to incorporate cardiovascular exercise into your routine.

listen to your body: as you age, your body may not be able to handle the same level of intensity as it did in your 20s or 30s.so listen to your body & adjust your workout accordingly. rest days are just as important as workout days, so make sure to give your body the time it needs to recover.

so for my ladies in your 40s strength training is an excellent way for you to maintain you health & fitness.

so by prioritizing compound exercises, incorporating cardio into your routine, & listening to your body, you can build strength, increase endurance, & maintain a healthy weight well into your 40s & beyond.
